I love getting to see Tayam represented. He’s a commander that I’m really looking into and want to build a higher power level deck of. I don’t know if he’s a good Cedh commander, but I still really like him.

There's a bunch of tayam lists on the database and they can mostly all compete. Rylands list is my favorite and had done very well in cedh games for mw

That was a really good way to explain the mirage mirror combo. If it's an updated list other targets are treasure vault and stonework pack beast oddly enough. Kinnan really profited the last couple sets, just in a sneakily good way.

@lightspeed10013 жыл бұрын
When you cast Basalt Monolith, you were asked "do you pay the one?" and you chose not to pay. Death Magic is not allowed to cast Vampiric Tutor there, because Rhystic Study is already trying to resolve. His only choice there is to either draw a card or not; casting the Vampiric Tutor is illegal. He needs to cast his tutor before even asking you to pay the one.
@lightspeed10013 жыл бұрын
Another example: If you shortcut by saying "Cast some spell, don't pay for rhystic" and Rhystic Study's owner tutors before drawing, you are allowed to backtrack your shortcut and pay the one (the game state changed since you declared your shortcut).
@cedhtv3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes your right I forgot. It is part of resolution. The resolution never ends and he never gets priority. I keep forgetting this one over and over. Thanks for reminding me.

At 4:21 when you activate Thrasios as a respond to it dying, did you make a mistake, since Bonder only gives extra mana from nonland permanents or was the cost of Thrasios reduced to 2? Mistakes happen I know so it's all good :) Just wanted to check if I'm missing something.
@cedhtv3 жыл бұрын
I tapped mox diamond and 2 lands that is 4 mana. Mox diamond makes 2 because of Kinnan.

@jfb-3 жыл бұрын
In game 1 the Tayam player shouldo have been activating wall of roots at the end of each turn so that on his turn he's have the counters for a tayam activation
@cedhtv3 жыл бұрын
I do think I will agree with you.
@zik1981 Жыл бұрын
indeed, with the the vigilance counter he would have enough for 2 activations by his turn as it could go to 5 0/-1 and consume the counters immediatly during cost payment so his WOR wouldn't die.
@koreyg8552 Жыл бұрын
You cannot ask Someone if they are paying for rhystic and when they say no you try to tutor to then draw the card lol. It’s rhystic study trigger on the stack hold priority vamp tutor and then when study trigger happens they decide

2 Mana from the artifact and two lands. He just tapped the Mox Diamond? and then startet explaining why the Thrasios kill is the correct play and then tapped the two lands I think.

Oh I see what happened. He tapped the Diamond before the cutaway and then the lands after. My bad.

Off topic, but have been wondering if Jacob Haukeen, it flips into the enchantment that either let's you play an exiled land with it or free cast a spell, once per turn. Been turning the wheels in my head to see if it can be cedh viable, best I got to was Jacob turns, to take advantage of free cast and some thoughts to Top Deck manipulation, just wondering what you and the community thoughts would be on it?
@ChaoticMidget_3 жыл бұрын
There’s someone in my local meta that plays him. He plays it more as a high powered deck, but he won 2/3 games with it at our tournament this week, although that’s a little skewed Bc the field wasn’t all true cEDH decks
@MasterDecoy1W3 жыл бұрын
He's a bad Vryn's Prodigy. Jace is better for value because he fills the graveyard, doubles up a spell when he flips, and can be a wincon in a rare grind game. Hauken gives no bonus until you pay an exorbitant amount of mana to flip him, and he only pays out once per turn CYCLE. Control spells exiled by him are near worthless. He has no unique advantage over other generals. Blue doesn't need a single free spell per turn when simply doubling up a High Tide is enough to win the game.

Despite the result, I think that death magic made a few bad choices on G1. With a T1 tevesh, go for an ultimate plan isn't a bad idea, just 2 turns producing trolls and blocking and GG. At 03:34 I also didn't get why he sacrificed a troll with phyrexian tower to genetate BB, he had enough mana to cast the cathar without the sac.
