Carrie, I had to come on here and share with you my exciting news. For the first time ever, I got 4 green peppers off the plant that I bought at Walmart and it was almost dead. I praised our Heavenly Father for what He let me grow. I am so thankful!

Who else loves this beautiful family as much as I do ??!!?? Can we all get together and thk them for thier beautiful video's they work so hard on them and always give us such informative information . I just really think we should tell them how much we appreciate this beautiful family with all the negativity in our world its refreshing to have them as part of our lives we all are Blessed ❤ The children are excellent examples of the love of our father in thier hearts and if all children and young teens can conduct thier livrs like them think how wonderful things would be.....

I can't believe I missed this video, I watch them all! I especially love the farm to table meals because I've always admired and wanted to be someone living off the grid and being self sufficient. I love how honestly you stated the beef wasn't actually from your farm. I absolutely adore all the flowers you show at the beginning of each video. That being said, I know perhaps it might be too much work in editing, but it would be fantastic to see the name of each one too? And the littles are growing just way too quickly 😍 blessings as always from Western Australia 🌹🇦🇺

I cook everything on a 2 burner campstove and bake everything else on my gas grill. Put a pizza stone on the grate in the grill, heat grill and stone at the same time. I place a stainless steel rack over the hot stone so I bake cakes, cookies, casseroles, meats etc. Anything that you can cook in a regular oven you can cook on the grill.

We have been using our BBQ grill this summer as our oven because it is just too hot to cook in the house. We have a gas BBQ grill that works off of a propane tank. We love it because in addition to the bbq area there is a little burner on the side so I can cook things like a pot while I cook other things inside the grill. I have made peach cobblers, cookies, pizzas, and many other things in the grill part of the BBQ grill, and I have made soups, boiled water, eggs, and many other things on the range type burner that is on the side of the grill. Works great when you are off grid and it is super hot outside.

Yes, chard grows well into the summer. Sweet potato leaves are edible, best cooked like spinach. Sometimes we grow Malabar Spinach for summer cooked greens. We are still working on a system for growing heat tolerant lettuce varieties in the summer. 🙂

@1000sofroots

Unfortunately, it is too moist in the root cellar during the summer and doesn't get enough air flow. Once we get our last patio roof on we will have room for shelves that will get morning sun and good air flow, hopefully perfect for curing vegetables. 🙂

@1000sofroots

I prefer to ferment or freeze them to retain as much nutrition as possible, although I do hope to can tomatoes once we have more space to grow them in our main crop garden. We try to grow a lot of crops that don't require canning and store in our pantry or root cellar, like potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbages, onions, garlic, and winter squash.🙂
