THIS VIDEO. K/S is my OTP of OTP's. You did a great job presenting the historical context of the ship and the voice-overs were hilarious! Channeling William Shatner for sure. :D This video makes me so happy. One thing I'd add that is an essential part of the ship is Spock seeing Kirk as his T'hy'la according to Roddenberry himself, a word that is translated to mean either brother, friend or lover. It's basically the bread and butter of K/S fics and is rarely not included in some form.

Absolutely; the T'hy'la bond is what I often point to as proof of K/S. That and the scene where Kirk tells Spock "Why Mr. Spock, you almost make me believe in miracles!" That one's not mentioned nearly enough ☺️

When I started watching Star Trek a few years ago, I was like: nah, just platonic. But the thought, the feels and all those so *damn shipable* moments didn't leave me alone. And after I re-watched The warth of Khan, I had to admit that I'm shipping Spirk. I will go down with this ship. But in the reboot... I never saw this... love. In the reboot, all I can see is Spock and Nyota, and that's fine! Btw: I shiped him and her when I was a little kid in the tos ♥

and we can see before that when Spock goes for his captain to the warp core, he almost throws uhura, it's like "don't get in the way, my captain is more important" anyway their relationship ended, Uhura is a beautiful and very intelligent woman of course she should realize everything, besides she is with scotty

Ah Kirk and Spock basically the epicenter that got me hooked on Star Trek. Although I must give a shout-out to Scotty/Uhura and say how much I would love to see a video on them. Being the only canon pairing for the TOS crew outside of lady of the week one offs. Also one of the few things I enjoy about Star Trek V besides the McSpirk camping trip.

I swear Uhura and Spock had moments in the original, not just the 2009 movie! That was always my ship in ST. I'm glad they made that a part of the new movies. I also love what they did with Spock's personality. He is half human, it makes sense for him to blow up sometimes. Basically I can talk about that Vulcan all day. As for K/S, I always thought of them as brothers, but I can see why this is a pairing people like.

My top OTPs for Star Trek are!!! 1. Kirk/Spock -- No shit!2. McCoy and my OC Kathy Weller -- In my fanfic, Kathy was a nurse on the Enterprise, who struck up an instant bond with McCoy. And Kathy also happened to be Kirk's fiancee. But he dumped her for Spock. (Long story, which is still a work in progress). And well, Kathy went to the next guy who didn't treat her like dirt. MCCOY!!! Although I haven't finished my story yet, I have big plans for them!3. Scotty/Uhura -- Perhaps it was that cute little scene in The Final Frontier, where Uhura mentions going on shore leave with him. I don't know. I've just always shipped them. They've always seemed the most likely to be canon, too.4. Uhura/Chekov -- I've always loved how dopey Chekov is and I can absolutely imagine him having a mad crush on Uhura and not being able to handle it. Squee!! He's just so dayum cute! And last but not least, my one and only ship from TNG: Data/Deanna. I know Data isn't supposed to have human emotion (in the show at least), but there's something in me that can't fight it. Honestly I'm aromantic and asexual so my shipping does not often leave the platonic zone. However I have great respect for Kirk/Spock shippers and will read fics as long as the pairing is not the center of the story (like I prefer stories that have plots not dependent on any romantic pairing even if they are part of it). I think of it as the modern original ship. With Achilles and Patroclus being the ancient one. Incidentally would you have any interest in doing a Patroclus/Achilles ship? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Definitely one of my favs. One of the oldest I am shipping. Occasionally difting into the McSpirk zone or the McKirk region, mainly because of the reboots.
