So, I've "known" these guys for 48 of my 58 years .... Outside of my parents and siblings, there're really no other people who've been in my life for as long. Just like all the "real people" that come and go through your life, there have been great highs and miserable lows in this relationship. Throughout all of it though, there's always a certain amount of love and respect that remains. I really can't imagine my life without KISS in it. I always have a hard time trying to give position numbers to records but I can say for sure that KISS "KISS" is absolutely the cement foundation for the house that KISS built. Thanks for a great show, guys!

Absolutely fantastic Peter. I felt like this was a college class with each album being analyzed by two top notch professors. This is the best ranking presentation I’ve seen on the Kiss albums. I’m going to go back and watch again. The analysis was just amazing.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

On another note. I agree with you and Reed on Asylum. It is a criminally underrated album, and in my top three. I thought Bruce Kulick was fantastic in Kiss, and should have never been replaced.

Great show and discussion! I was waiting to see Reeds List! I'm an ACE fan but Bruce is my #2! so underrated and underappreciated. Rock and Roll Over, Asylum and Revenge are the best KISS albums because IMO they are just being KISS. you can say the same for Dressed To Kill and dare I say, Sonic Boom.

Great to see both of you! Here is my current list - 10. Crazy Nights - These are very strong songs in the style in which they were intended. Yes, it's not as heavy but that doesn't mean it doesn't have impact. The sonics are amazing and I must mention Paul's voice. Beyond impressive. His power and range were never equaled. 9. Asylum - Great tracks, great playing, great sound. The outfits got a bit too ..colorful...but Bruce was on fire and the band has plenty of energy and drive. Always enjoy the full album when I put it on. 8. Kiss - the best collection of songs..but Alive has ruined this one for me. I can't hear these versions anymore, but the respect will always be there because of how amazing the songs are! 7. Lick It Up - Very strong album. They had plenty to prove and they delivered in a very hard and heavy way. Gene is especially strong. "Not for the Innocent" might be one of my favorite non-make up track. 6. Dressed To Kill - Like my friend Reed said, they have some great deeper tracks here. 5. Destroyer - Classic album all the way around. I greatly prefer the Bob Ezrin remix "Resurrected". The cover is beyond iconic!!! 4. Revenge - The return of the hard rock Kiss. Out of the sadness from the passing of Eric Carr, Eric Singer comes in and they go full on for the first time in a very long time! Saw the filming of Alive III in Detroit and it was one of the most remarkable shows I have ever seen!!! Way too short lived however....but it stands strong in the #4 spot! 3. Hotter Than Hell - By far my favorite of the original trio. Unlike some, (sorry Peter K) I LOVE how this sounds. It's beautifully ugly!!! So dark! So brutal! So unique. I love the tracks and especially the deeper tracks! Just love this! 2. Creatures of the Night - Stunning! Super Heavy! Great sounding drums but horrible sounding cymbals..but it has impact. All the songs are great and were just at the wrong time in their career. If this had been done after Alive II, their history would have been very different!! The Anniversary box set has some amazing tracks that provide an inside look into that album. 1. Rock and Roll Over - This has been my favorite for a very long time. While still not a sonic masterpiece, the material is untouchable for me. Ace is on fire! "I Want You", "Makin' Love", "Take Me", and more! Top to bottom perfection! This was the album/tour when I saw them for the first time, and it just changed my life!! Follow up comments - No "Love Gun"?? NOPE! It's two great songs and a bunch of stuff I don't care for at all! "Love Gun" and "I Stole Your Love" are stunning tracks but I can't past the total train wreck of "Christine Sixteen", "Tomorrow and Tonight", 'And Then She Kissed Me"! Never liked "Shock Me" as I thought "Rocket Ride" was a much stronger song! Enjoyed the show!!

Revenge, I must say would probably never even make my Top 15, quite obvious to me they're trying way too hard to suddenly look tough and be heavy again merely for the sake of it but overall the material just isn't there, I rate The Elder a masterpiece compared that at least was a fun departure with some genuine thought behind it.

I’m curious as to where you guys would have ranked The Elder? Creatures and LIU are my top albums, but Under The Rose may be my favorite KISS song, and maybe the best Ace solo in Dark Light. The Oath - another killer opening. Radar for Love may be the most Zeppelin sounding (Black Dog) KISS song ever, and I would have ranked Asylum between 5 and 10. I agree with the comment of Paul hitting his peak with I Still Love You. Beyond Creatures and LIU, his high notes become more shrill sounding and lacking power. The first album is important and contains timeless classics, but not in the top 5 for me. I need more power!

I'm going to include my ranking before I watch to see how well we match up. 10) Destroyer (Although there are a couple of legendary tracks on here, I've always had a problem with the over the top, heavy-handed production of Bob Ezrin on this album.) 09) Revenge (This might have scored higher if I'd have spent time with it when it was released. The 1st single scared me off.) 08) Lick It Up (This was a good followup to Creatures but, I think it was a mistake to keep Vinnie reigned in, He could have done more.) 07) Asylum (What an awesome album for that time. Bruce is phenomenal on here.) 06) Dressed To Kill (Better production would have landed this one higher. So many great songs!) 05) Kiss (The production was a little weak here too which, again let down a great batch of classic tunes.) 04) Love Gun (My first Kiss album as a new release. I played that thing over and over for months on end) 03) Creatures of the Night (The return to form we were hoping for!) 02) Hotter Than Hell (Has pretty much always been my favorite Kiss album) 01) Rock and Roll Over (I finally had to acknowledge how much I like this album this past year. It was my number three for a long time and probably sat at four for awhile when Creatures came out. Love Gun was my number two for a long, long time)

I just read that KISS will embark on an all acoustic tour in 2024/25. It’s expected to get under way after Gene’s solo tour. So much for the end of the road if that is the case.
