I think Ramsay knows various languages a little bit. Spanish being one of them, but it was funny lol
@unterdessen8822
@unterdessen8822 2 жыл бұрын
@@LeoCharles He's fluent in French. French and Spanish both belong to a European language group, that is called "Romance languages" in English. It doesn't really have anything to do with romance, but with the Romans - all of these languages are based on Latin. So they have a vast overlap of vocabulary, that is similar or the same in all of them. If you know Spanish, you can kind of guess your way through Italian sentences (if you're fast enough to keep up with their speed). French is most closely related to Portuguese, but there are still enough words in Spanish, that you could understand without ever having learned it. As someone who studied Latin, you could even pretty accurately guess your way through the Romanian language, because although it nowadays has Slavic elements, it's still a Romance language (as the only surviving example of eastern Latin dialects). Gordon as a native English speaker could also try to understand other languages of the group he naturally belongs to: English is a Germanic language and in one subgroup with Dutch and German. Those are known as West Germanic. The North Germanic subgroup contains Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Faeroese and Danish. (South and East Germanic are extinct.) As an English speaker you can at least understand bits of all of these, but unfortunately English is the least complex of them. It doesn't have that much grammar, so... for someone, who speaks a more complex Germanic language it's much easier to "downgrade" (in terms of grammar) to English, than for an English speaker to "upgrade" to a grammatical nightmare like German. And some words are tricky. "Gift" originally meant "something that is given" in West Germanic. So in English it took on the meaning of "present". But in German it means "poison". Don't confuse the two...
@korokua
@korokua 2 жыл бұрын
@@unterdessen8822 ok but as someone with decent french, it's impossible to understand spoken spanish like that. they're nowhere mutually intelligible, french has gone through many changes and influences from germanic languages that other romance languages haven't. a quick google search reveals that he spent some time in spain and south america, where he learned enough spanish to get buy.
@unterdessen8822
@unterdessen8822 2 жыл бұрын
@@korokua I agree, that French speakers can't automatically understand Spanish, but as the two are related, speaking French gives you two advantages in this case: - You can guess a couple of words and structures - When you decide to learn one Romance language, already knowing another makes things much easier, becausd you already have a basic idea how the grammar works

Overreaction for food that is going to get people sick....I totally understand. But a lot of it is for the show, more specifically the United States episodes. When all was said and done we got shut down because of the bar. They had mushrooms growing in the beer kegs broken equipment and their floor was so dirty it was black we spent 5 hours helping them after hours off the clock just to keep our jobs. This happens more often then you realize and any place with a kitchen has to be cleaned regularly I worked on a military base and they were even stricter than state boards. You often have that in toxic environments: When the regional manager is shit, the sales reps cling together and support each other. Same here: Toxic owners, so the staff is close. You could spin this further: Toxic leadership in a country - the people are going to form their own comfort group and figure out how to function without the useless cancer on top. And if the cancer doesn't retreat by itself, it's guillotine time.

Those two chefs being able to finally experiment with their own recipes, and have their bosses astounded, was one of the most heart-warming things I have ever seen within the context of food. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Edit: also, Ramsay does indeed give credit where it is due. He's not a monster. He just gets in your face relentlessly, which I somewhat admire.

If you pay attention, he's always respectful to wait staff because he knows the problems aren't them, and when he sees that the chefs have talent and are hamstrung by equipment or ownership, he immediately works to build their confidence up by getting them the freedom and opportunity they need.

On one hand, if cooking an item takes 9 minutes, it takes 9 minutes. 8 minutes leave it under cooked, 10 is overcooked. Just basic things of how the earth works. So weird that people go to Denzel as an example of a great actor. He has no range he's only good for mild action and grim/solemn closeups. If we must keep it "diverse" and avoid the true greats like Anthony Hopkins and Robert Duvall, at least pick people with range like Eddie Murphy, Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan, Keith David or Will Smith.

@@Freddynotsoready So he's racist even though he suggested other black (and Chinese) actors who might be better examples. Denzel is good but not great in the action genre. We had a 24 hour diner in the airport. I came in early to have breakfast. A young Mexican guy was doing the cooking. Quite a few people in at four am eating. Pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, he was doing it all. I was watching him. No rushing, he had his orders set up, everything cooked great. I think the owners felt sorry for old Casamiro. They’ll keep him on, even though he’s responsible for a lot of food going to waste.

I'm not sure if Nino is the only one with heart condition and shocks to his stomach.... Anthony's too having issues... if he could not get those cleaned... If Nino killed a spidy (black widow), there will be one gum to dry out or kill... It's the work of the TWINS and more who are lazy and so many many more who feel threatened by the presence of few.... It's man hunt to drive people insane and make them run after creating chaos and capture in another place or environment... We live in an uncanny valley of criminal minds who makes people their dolls or puppets because they have psychological disorders, keeping them hostage.... The dolls are men too... Jennie messaged to investigate on this shortly... Let's hope she has a good flight crew in UAE to help investigate and clean this mess up... There is a lot in this puzzle to solve...
