let's be fair, you can't compare cooking a single dish at home which you can give your full attention to, with trying to cook 5+ different things at the same time. Plus in a restaurant there's the pressure to get it right, cooks have have been going at it for hours and you do not want to leave customers waiting. At home you can take your sweet time and only have yourself to answer to. So yes, I agree you can eat often eat better at home, but not a fair comparison.

The one weakness I think he has is in not recognizing food that is "good enough". Lots of people who eat out cant tell the difference between fresh food or frozen, or how it was prepared. Spending extra on the kitchen for something the customer doesn't care about doesn't make business sense. If you have a low cost restaurant for low income customers, they won't mind the corner cutting so long as the food is tasty and fairly priced. Not every restaurant has to be run as if its fine dining.

@@oskarassilvestras230 I'd prefer word "dramatized". Because these restaurants and their situations are/were real, but because television is all about drama, it's shot, cut and edited to seem worse/more shocking than it is. Watch a few episodes of the UK version and you'll realize how unnecessarily noisy and over the top the US version is.

@@kayy25606 No, it's quite an important difference. There's a reason there's a disclaimer at the end of every show, that scenes are shown out of order.
