Gordon may be classified as an as$hole but he’s always helped those with hearts. I’d wager any day he’s got a good read on people and he spent more time with Martin than we did. Gordon wasn’t calling Martin’s sham until after that last busy night and seeing Martin clearly not fill the role in any way or capacity. While he has Mohammed wooed offscreen and, I swear, he’s wooing those waitresses too that’s why they’re so lovey dovey with him. Kinda sad that Andrew wasn't heavily featured in this episode, it really felt like he cared for this place when it was in the dump and he had huge potential as a manager for the restaurant instead of Khan. But on the bright side, he established a close friendship with chef Vikas because of the show. He even managed Junoon NYC (Vikas' restaurant for 2 years) and co-wrote a cookbook with him (13th Millionth Meal). Really amazing.

I think because Andrew was stretched so thin and already cared there wasn't as much story there. Since Andrew manages kitchen well and Martin is a straight up disaster in front of house, that's where the reality TV drama story is. And it's nice showing an underdog come up (Khan). What the show doesn't tell you is that everything Gordon does comes at a price. The make over, menu, training etc... all come at a price and the restaurant is forced to take out a loan. Gordon and the show doesn't lose money but if the restaurant is not able to turn enough profit they are forced to shut down due to debts.

let's be fair, you can't compare cooking a single dish at home which you can give your full attention to, with trying to cook 5+ different things at the same time. Plus in a restaurant there's the pressure to get it right, cooks have have been going at it for hours and you do not want to leave customers waiting. I never understood Gordon as a person until this. I want everyone who serves me food to be wound as tight as Gordon. The cleanliness of the kitchen in HIS restaurant and the precision and attention to of his employees was inspiring. I loved it. I always thought that he was an angry mess who took perverse joy in yelling and screaming. He's actually just a perfectionist who pushes people to achieve his level or to leave because the prove they cannot.

He's incredibly caring, but he can't stand people who have egos and can't back them up or people who should know what they're doing and don't. He has patience when training people but it's also their job, if they can't perform after three times being told what's wrong they can't work there. Food service is one of the most stressful jobs on the planet and you really do just have to be built different to survive in one.

These guys in this restaurant were just disgusting. Not trained at all. So fortunate that Vikas helped out. Kudos to Mohammad for actually listening to Gordon and not behaving silly and arrogant. Ngl, I went to One of Gordons vegas restaurants in like 2012 for honeymoon dinner (divorced now) and I saw a cockroach on my way back from the bathroom. I pulled aside the server to let him know, and he was very kind about it. He told the manager, who then gave us a discount on the food for being discreet, but also flat out said he didnt think there was bugs, and that I just said so to get a cheaper meal. Needless to say, the amount he comped off, went strait to an ADDITIONAL tip for the server. The beef wellington also wasnt that great. TOFFEE PUDDING AMAZING. Id definitly go to another of his restaurants again given the chance, I just dunno about vegas. Granted vegas is vegas, but still. ANY place needs good supervision or it gets chaotic. This place in this video is just.... LIKE. Point being. I can get missing a bug or two, your focused on your job, and Im like a cat, I see something move, I look at it. But this, these arent even trying to hide. Its so blaringly everywhere and in your face. Im absolutely appalled no one thought it was an issue to correct. Places close down permanently because of mice and rats let alone how bad these bugs are. AAAHHHHH.
