The railings came good in the end mate, lovely bit of contrast, but the stair treads are a work of art 👍

Thanks much appreciated & glad you think so. Working it out, cutting & installing I have no problem with, sticking it all together with a bi of weld should be the easy bit... shouldn't it 😂👍 These are from 2022 & there's more to come from this job that are mainly woodworking, then we'll have to see how this yr goes but I'm not stopping working or filming 👍

Thanks much appreciated 👍😊 Yep, I needed to watch all the many clips I had just to remember what I did & once organised I had to then edit while I still had them in mind. There's a few more to come from 2022 which will be mainly woodworking, & I'm not sure how this yr will work out reg work & fitness but I sort of need to get these out of the way so I can move forward with filming.. 👍 You take care too 👍

You did well with the four holes in the porcelain tiles that Marcrist bit did well I have used the wax cored ones but usually you struggle to get more than two holes drilled before the bit is completely finished. The black powder coated metal and the wooden stairs look really good, excellent job.
@Gidjoiner5 ай бұрын
Thanks much appreciated, glad you like it 👍 Yeah, some people on here have recommended the Bosh multi bit, the tiler said these tiles were hard & recommended the Marcrist bit, I tried other bits I had & nothing even scratched the surface so I doubt the Bosch bit would've faired much better.

The Bosch multi drill bit from Screwfix is ace for drilling tiles . The railing looks good.

Thanks much appreciated 👍 Glad you like them 😊 I tried a few bits, drilling slowly without hammer using a decent SDS bit & inc a Bosch expert hex 9 drill bit (the one I tried to describe in the vid) but none even scratched the surface of these tiles. I think the tiler suggested the one I used in the vid. It'll prob be a while before I have to drill tiles like this again & we'll see...

Great video, Great job Gid. Being nosey here what phone do you use for video and what editing software do you use please. Regards Allan.
@Gidjoiner5 ай бұрын
Thanks much appreciated, glad you like it 👍 I use my phone because it's always in my pocket, work comes before filming if that makes sense, it's a Samsung S23 Ultra, I also use a GoPro11. I've destroyed the mics on a couple of phones in the past due to the high noise of tools, I haven't done much work so we'll have to see how this one goes. I use Vegas Pro21 for editing, it was owned by Sony who let it fall into disrepair, Magix bought it & are trying to update it but it's old software so that isn't easy, it really needs a complete rewrite but that would be a massive undertaking & they only have a small team, they have made massive improvements in the last couple of yrs tho & there's more to come 👍 I like Vegas's layout & just the general look & feel, there's free editors like Resolve but I don't like them, it's hard to explain why. You can download the Trial that gives 1mth free usage if you're interested www.vegascreativesoftware.com/gb/vegas-pro/.

It should have been quicker to drill with an electric drill. More torx.
@Gidjoiner5 ай бұрын
That BOSCH GSB 18V-110 C drill I was using has 110nm of torque, that thing will rip your arm off if you're not careful. Torque wasn't an issue, I didn't have the trigger pulled all the way in most of the time so it wasn't the drilling that slowed the speed, the tiles are really hard & I was trying to get the best cutting speed, fast on some, slow on others,

@@GidjoinerI have the same drill Gid, I always put the front handle on if I'm using a hole saw or a large diameter bit. It would snap your wrist in a flash.
@Gidjoiner5 ай бұрын
Yeah n those handles are twice the length of a reg angle grinder type handle for more leverage, & the collar on the drill where the handle mounts it's ribbed for better grip 😮😂
