Thanks for the tips. The real problems start when you're dealing with waves and a strong current.. I literally just made a video about that lol. Keep up the good work!

Hey TDJ, you are right about that! Where do you ride? Thanks! Blake

@@blakeolsen9762 usually on the North Sea in The Netherlands. Kitesurfing is regulated in our country so most of the flat water spots are too crowded these days.. Lots of free space at sea inevitably with waves and current as side effect. How about you? Where're you from/what's your home spot?

@@tdj1349 yeah it seems like there are a lot of really good kiters from the Netherlands! I didn't know that it was so regulated there. I guess since it's a smaller country and it's so popular it has to be. Learn how to foil and you won't have to worry about the currents and chop! I grew up in Saudi but live in the US. Home base is on Okaloosa Island, Florida. If you're ever this way let me know!

@@blakeolsen9762 actually I had trip planned to Florida this summer but it was canceled due to Covid.. Maybe one day! Lots of things to learn first, before trying to foil kite. Hope you're staying safe. Thanks for reaching out. Bests, Thomas

Hi Blake thank you for the tips, they did help a lot, although I can't still let go of the bar as I still lack that one hand kite control I was able to upwind a bit wiggling board and fine tuning and wiggling too bar power when wind is low ( for a beginner ) although If I can add to your very useful advices ... Only when the kite is low I can significally edge and unfortunatelly in low wind I need to pump kite up and down to keep going, finally I worked out edging when kite come down low ( more horizontal pull ) and head a little downwind when kite rise up (some kite pull is lost to vertical ) to regain some speed ... It seems doing the trick for me ... But I let more experienced kiter comment if this is generally true or just my imagination 😉 ...

I hear from fellow kiters that foot straps should be shoulder width apart. Does anyone know if a wider stance might help going upwind in lite wind?
@MACkiteboarding2 жыл бұрын
It’s more about comfort. Use a stance that makes your knees and ankles comfortable. The right technique and the right board / fin combo play a bigger roll than stance. - Rygo
