Good job. Well videoed. Systematic instructions. I have a 2007 VW Passat V6.I had the car parked on my slopping driveway for 4 weeks. Now tge brake pad does not release easily after being depressed during driving. Whilst driving and breaking, the brake appears to tighten as though the parking brake button is pressed. Any suggestions?

nice job. it's amazing you could do the thing with one hand. I think the fully retracted piston shouldn't need to be pressed back with your tool, or the retraction motor was not fully functioning.

Hello Deo. From your experiance do you think it is necessary to keep the key on all the time that you do the brake job or maybe it is possible to turn it off and turn it on again after the brake pads and rotors replacement? I am asking becasuse sometimes I don't have access to the electricity and I can't use the battery charger.

Thanks for the video , well explained and easy to understand but when I decided to do it I'm inventing sooo many curses and swear words, 1 star bolt came off fast and thought that it will be an easy job, then the other 3 started laughing their asses off at me, they won't budge at all. Used a good amount of wd40 on them and still nothing, any tips? Also I tried getting the discs off and same story, on 1 side the little screw that holds it was easy to remove and on the other side the screw was pretty rusty and I tried to carefully loosen it but the head is now destroyed. Any tips on that too?

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair at last I loosened them, I managed to snug a breaker bar there, they wouldn't come off at all with the ratchet, but now I have another problem.. stupid me accidentaly hit the close piston function on VCDS while the calipers were off the car and when I try to use the open function it says error 007 not available, I mananged to open the motor housing and rewinded the motor with a t40 but the tool to push back the piston doesnt even fit. I didnt touch the brakes in the process, I was thinking that once I put everything back together to hit the brake pedal a few times anf then start the car and try to use the ebrake button. Any thoughts?

Can you please explain how to retract the motor manually? You mention it in a comment reply below about removing the motor and turning the screw counterclockwise. What screw is that? Does the motor come off cleanly or are there seals to worry ablut? Also, I'm guessing I unplug the motor wire and/or don't need the car to be on or a charger connected? Thanks!
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair 3 жыл бұрын
Jeff Chandler if you want to retract the caliper piston manually you have to remove the black little electric motor behind the caliper, after you remove it, you will see a torque screw attached to the back of the caliper, it's between the caliper and the motor, that screw allows the electric motor to push the caliper piston out when the park brakes are applied, you need to turn that screw counterclockwise to retract the piston...Good Luck!!!
