Real interesting comparison Matt. Kiwaya seemed more open. But both warm. Nice Ukes. Have a good evening.

Hello, I like the sound and the looks of the Singer. It has a extra sparkle to it.

thanks for the Comparison. what's the difference in sound between amm3 and rt1m?
@sandpiper09 Жыл бұрын
That's a good question!
@WorldofUkes Жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed this. The RT1M is warmer is the short answer. It's a bit more refined, rounder, more subtle and harmonically rich. The AMM3 is a good all rounder - with some mahogany warmer but a bit more power and projection.

To my ears the Singer is a little brighter, and the Kiwaya a little more mellow. But they're both fantastic instruments, and I would be happy to own either one!

HI Matt, I prefer the Singer, both in sound and looks. But I must admit that there's not much in it. Thanks for your time for making the video.

Which of those do you think would be better for clawhammer? Or another uke entirely for clawhammer? Thanks 🙏
@WorldofUkes3 ай бұрын
Quite possibly something else (not that there'd be anything wrong with these for that style). I do like spruce or cedar tops for that though, as your so quick with your picking, it's nice to have clarity and note separation that a brighter sounding tonewood gives.

Thanks for your reply. How do you think the Millar CD-260W would fare for Clawhammer. I’m after a ‘dusty’ old timey tone (if that makes any sense).

Very close Matt, as said, the Kiwaya is mellower, but that could be the Worths. Would love to hear the Singer with Worths!!!

Very close, and I love both, but you have helped me made a decision. That decision is *not* to buy a ukulele now, and wait until I’ve saved up enough for something like one of those. That type of sound is just what I want, so I’ll try not to give into temptation with my current savings.
@WorldofUkes2 жыл бұрын
I think there's merit in that Paul. I've often said my purchase of one expensive one 7 years ago now has stopped me spending again. (That's how I justify it, the big investment saved me money haha!)

Thanks for understanding. I was hoping I didn't come across as "rude ungrateful customer says he won't be buying anything for a bit".

@@paul_mitchener_ukulele Not at all. Your approach makes perfect sense to me!

It's the Kiwaya for me. I can't put my finger on exactly why, it just speaks to me a little more than the Singer, which is also a great sounding uke. I'd have to factor in the cost of a decent case for the Kiwaya though.
@WorldofUkes2 жыл бұрын
A hard one wasn't it. Good choice or a comparison I have to say!
@duncansmith57342 жыл бұрын
@@WorldofUkes Yep definitely. For me, the Singer's blingier but the Kiwaya's singier. 😁

Both excellent, to me that would come down to your own ear there is no winner here, yes there different but there is no answer I am a AnueNue lover but If it where me it would be a hard decision, good luck to the customer picking one
@WorldofUkes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robin - the customer picked the Singer. It was tricky as I liked different things about each myself, so I am glad I don't have to choose!

Both have plenty of chang-a-lang. To my ear, while both are nice and crisp, the Kiwaya sounds a bit meatier and the Singer, a bit brighter. Tough choice. I’d go for the Kiwaya, between the two.
@GenghisDaniel Жыл бұрын
In term of sound, I will go for the Kiwaya, to me it sounds more mature, there is more depth and natural reverberation to its sound, it is a more refined sound (probably because the Kiwaya is more lightly build). The Singer is also really good, brighter and with a more pronounced staccato sound (it is closer to that traditional Soprano bark I will say). The Singer is also a bit more powerful so I will say that it depends on what you are going to play. The Singer might be a bit better if you intend to be heard in a large ukulele ensemble, the Kiwaya might be the best instrument if you are playing and singing solo. Best of both world will probably be the Koa version of the Kiwaya which seems to be a bit more powerful and bright than the mahogany one, albeit, not the same price bracket ^^. I am still trying to decide if I like the look of Kiway'sa strummer series (those offset dots are not really my cup of tea on a traditional looking instrument), even tough I am a really big fan of Kiwaya's more traditional line design. So regarding the looks, I must admit that the Singer is a clear winner for me (I think it is even better looking than the higher end Singer which are a bit blingy for me).

I think the Singer sounds brighter & zings a bit more. But that last set of music it was very even between the two. Oh decisions, decisions. 😞
