I liked the video on this topic. Not a lot of people take time for this aspect of a project. I’ve heard you say how much this build would cost , but it’s better understood the way you got it broke down I think. I’ve been looking in to those rouge fab tube benders for a future purchase. A little pricey but worth it I’m sure. Might be a while before I build my cart. I’m like you in a way on how much research I put in on something like this before I actually start. Thanks again, looking forward to the next one.

Pretty realistic and honest break down. I was able to purchase some of my materials from welding shops that had left overs from projects and so I paid a fraction of the store cost (strongly recommend doing this). Plus one of the welding shops was making these long flat bar things for mounting something at a saw mill (not sure exactly what they were), and they messed up the plans making them too long and had to cut about 1.5 inches off each one, and so I got for free a few buckets full of 1.5 by 1.5 quarter inch thick pieces of flat bar (roughly 300 of these), and I have trimmed them down into mounting tabs, suspension mounts, and so many more even non-buggy related things. So never hurts to ask
@KJRaycing3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I have to be honest because i’m a terrible liar. I’m approaching this from my perspective 5-10 years ago and trying to keep that mental frame when i shoot the videos. That is a stellar score on the metal, lifetime of free tabs. I’ll have to start snooping around some mills.

im watching the build series in order right now so no spoilers plz and i know its way to late but the only thing id fix on the exhaust is the clock position of the tip lol... also life has a tendency of taking away the things you love the most and i cried a little listening to your story as i thought of my 2 year old daughter the entire time and imagined exactly what it would feel like to lose her and how i dont want to waste a single day with her and i want to build her a power wheels one day. its was very inspiring. thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much. I want to get it running and tuned before I mess with the exhaust any more, but it’s in the cards to maybe shorten it or add a little piece to redirect the tip. Your Break Down is absolutely informative, especially for someone like my self who is going down this rabbit hole this year. I already have the powerplant for the build, 2011 ZX10R Kit, Harness, ecu, fuel pump, Gauge Cluster, Radiator, Throttle bodies, air box, everything but the frame to be honest! Literally. That is the plan for the build this year, myself and a buddy are looking to build 2 of them, one with the zx10 and another with a cbr600rr. So should be fun. I totally appreciate the break down tho gives me a good insight as to what I can look forward to spending.

I’m lucky enough to have a katana 600 that need a little work and a quad for more parts.i also work at dirt bike shop. I just started but I have access to many of the parts. . The most intimidating part to me is getting the chassis perfect. I will have to use a hand tube bender ,angle grinder and a cheap mig / plasma cutter and I’m new to any type of fabrication work . I never in a million years did I even think this would be possible.
@KJRaycing3 жыл бұрын
That would be a really good motor, the oil cooler is smaller than a radiator and still has plenty of punch. You don’t need to sweat the chassis as long as you are not in a rush. I built two of these with a jd2 and they turned out just fine. The rogue fab just makes it faster, not easier. You still have to verify the bends, but since the rogue fab is vertical you can check it in the machine. Some people rotate their jd2 90 degrees to get the same effect. The plans include jigs so everything is square. I created these plans so it is difficult to get anything out of alignment. And the crossmembers make everything strong even if something gets a little off.
