Season 9 chapter 1 is hand down one of the best summer events we've gotten A unvault and ltm everyday for 14 days A new skin released in the shop for 14 days The whole map covered in summer themed items and beach balloons Some of the best summer rewards like the water balloon and the peely smoothie backbling And the water balloon toy got its own ltm where if you get hit 3 times you get eliminated Now we just have 3 summer items, a npc, no map changes, and terrible summer quest Its sad

Bit off topic, but something I think Epic should do with the shops to make them a little less cluttered, is to make it so the items for a certain mode, only show up when you have that mode selected, for example, if you have the Festival mode selected, you’ll only see the jam track and instruments, if you wanna play LEGO, then only the LEGO stuff will be there. The skins will still be there, but I just think it’s silly that you have Rocket Racing, Lego, Festival AND Battle Royale all in one place.

Chapter 1 was just magic that will never fully come back. I had so much faith built up in Epic back then, they really could do no wrong. I even defended the mechs when they happened. The constant care shown to the game was unmatched. Tons of fan service. I now feel like that was just a honeymoon phase to attract and hook in a strong fan base. Not that the game is bad now, but imo, any season from 4-X blows away any season since, and that's mostly because of the constant care shown to the game. Events, steady updates, creative LTM's, live events, irl contests, etc.

I really hope they start doing these event takeovers like they did with Metalica. I'll use fortnitemares as an example since it's our next event Have a custom loot island like the metalica event decor around the island for halloween Maybe add jack o launchers to Lego have some spooky songs for festival have some pumpkin decals for the cars, maybe add some toppers so we can have a pumpkin stalk on them too. Maybe they could even spookyfie the reload map and port some of the old season 6 versions of pleasant tilted and retail on the map I just hope they put as much effort into their actual IP as they do with collabs Also still praying they add the Grave Digger as a weapon skin It's been 7 years epic, make it happen already

It seems that Fortnite's 1 year chapter model is really screwing them over.... Massive parts of the map feel forgettable, and it always feels like Epic is procrastinating and saying to themselves: "next chapter we are going to do it" and they never do...

I 100% agree with what you said about Fortnitemares and the analogy to real life events during that time of year. It gives off a different and really special vibe to Fortnite which isn't present during any other time. Same goes for Winter/Christmas, Winterfest is a magical time to play the game when executed right. Remember when we got a surprise full snow map on Christmas day back in 2018? That felt like magic and it's truly awesome when they execute those things correctly. This years Winterfest was a big downgrade, but the map still had a lot of that magic present, although it could've been better. Even Chapter 4 did it miles better without having much snow outside the snow biome. It's the little things that make these events special. How hard is it to repurpose already existing props and decorate the map? I can't imagine it being that hard to do those little decorations and have quests be themed around them. I mean, all they really had to do was add a few summer themed props around the desert lakes and have quests be themed around that instead of the most unoriginal and bland quests we've had to date. While on the topic of summer, people are kinda sad that they can't experience another summer event like 14 Days of Summer again. Fortnite just set the bar so high back then that they quite literally can't deliver that high again. But as I've said, it's the little things that make these events magical - themed props & quests, fog, etc. They need to recycle the bare minimum and I guarantee you that the events will feel fun again. I know that LTMs are long gone, but having a few of them for each seasonal event ready to recycle every year seems reasonable (like Horde Rush every year).

Btw just a note they haven't removed vehicle mods (not a big issue, they've removed cars) or Nitro Fists from comp yet. They say they'll get a patch out ASAP but they're on break until the 12th. When we get to see comp without the Nitro Fists there'll be only 6 days left of the Summer event. I remember waiting for Epic to release Fortnite before it even had a Battle Royale (they created Gears of War which was my favorite game) so I followed Fortnite closely till launch.. everyone seems divided. But the identity of Fortnite has shifted too far in my opinion. If it wasn't for Reload, I'd have struggled to get through this Season. I know there are folks who enjoy it. But they keep straying farther and farther from their original core identity. Reload is the best thing I've played in a long time.

When i saw the Pirates Mini-Pass i made an idea...: But since they're so obsessed with these mini-passes... why don't they make a nice summer mini-pass TOTALLY free? It would make a lot of people want to play (including me), wouldn't it? then just add other simple summer themed things like small POIs which will then be used to advertise the entire 14 day summer event. I believe that for the Collabs there is a LOT of work taken away from the development of the BR divided in turn into the other three modes (with the leaked Fall Guys thing, four): This is why I think that the MANY collaborations are one of FN's problems... A collaboration must be something exclusive and not something that is done at least 3/4 times a season (neglecting the fact that they destroy an entire season like the previous one) Now obviously I don't know how things really are, this is just my thought

The only thing I want Epic to do is to delete or at least discontinue the Metaverse and move all resources to BR and Reload because Lego barely gets updated and most people don't care about it and the people who do don't care if it doesn't get updated because all they do is build in their world. RR is just a racing mode it doesn't need updates. For Festival they could just make a custom song maker allowing you to put any song in there and even upload custom songs publicly because Lego and RR have something similar which is creative.

4:25 People have a problem with this because it's a trend of epic getting lazy with the seasonal events. This is literally the first in a while we haven't gotten trailers for seasonal stuff. Ever hear of the straw that breaks the camels back? it's not just the lack of content that's making people upset- it's that paired up with the fact epic is consistently being lazy with them. 4:50 I also have a problem with this statement, partially yes you are correct but let's not act as if epic doesn't ignore the community half as much as they listen, this summer event is proof of that, and the item shop is proof of that- yes they listen... but only after they get backlash. And even then sometimes it's not permanent. them splitting the loop pool is temporary. So acting as if epic is listening to the community as if they genuinely care is crazy.

No one is saying that they haven't dropped the ball in some areas but, the problem is the community ignores all the good they do. You could bring up all this other content if you want. but at the end of the day they still failed to properly provide content for the summer event in *BR*. that's the problem I and many other have and what makes it all the more disappointing is epic now has shown they can make awesome content, it's just that they would rather put their effort into the doomed metaverse. You mention how them fixing stuff after getting flack is still them listening- but the point i was trying to make was epic doesn't fix issues because they want to or genuinely care, they listen only if people keep complaining- i won't lie that the community complains about a lot, but the fact of the matter is epic only split the loop pool AFTER they nerfed the new stuff to the ground to please sweats and when that didn't work they removed it from ranked, they do not care at the end of the day like you somewhat implied in the video.

Tell me, in your opinion what is Epic allowed to experiment with when it comes to their game? They don't have infinite resources so some things have to be put to the side while trying something new. This is the same issue I had when I went away from Fortnite theories to being more commentary focused. If I had of stayed the same it would have been negative for my channel. In any form of content creation you need to experiment, but people with your mindset never give Epic the grace to do that. Yes there are a lot of things I don't like about this chapter or this season, but I see the effort and for what I typically enjoy most about Fortnite Epic has delivered 10 fold this season. I would rather have reload than a summer update with a few small island changes, a trailer, and some cosmetics. The effort is there but it's been shifted. They didn't have the resources to do reload, and Metallica, and Pirates of the Caribbean, and the summer event like we've had before. Just because you didn't get it packaged in the way you want doesn't mean Epic isn't listening, they just have a different focus for what they want to do with their game, and if you don't like it you're free to play something else. The game is in fact free.

If they never wanted to do a big seasonal even ever again but kept making new modes and banger seasons that would be okay. That's not the bare minimum but a change in focus and that's what I'm referring to by experimentation. They can't do what they used to do and all the new stuff. Clearly there are players that like the way Fortnite is now. Doesn't mean that some things weren't better than before, but they have been giving a lot. It's just not what the older fans always want. We have to give them time to find the balance, but personally a lot of my issues I had with the chapter were resolved with this season. Give it time for the rest.

As someone who just started playing in CH5, I would prefer if we got a summer map update instead of the Metallica event. And I say that as a Metallica fan. Now I get it, I get it, this was the big "Find it in Fortnite" spectacular where you have one celebration across all modes. I don't really mind not having a spring event. I don't mind not having an autumn event. But if you're going to do that for winter time, I would say that it just feels off not doing it for summer.

That’s what I thought too! I also think reload was supposed to be summer event content, but due to how heated people were about this season, they released it so early. That’s why there was no promotion, no leaks, no nothing until it just came out. It wasn’t supposed to. I mean, look at the free rewards from reload. Some arcade game contrail, a pool cubes wraps, and a banana chilling in an inflatable pool. Seems very summer to me. That’s why this event seemed so lackluster, because It was split up. here’s MY THOUGHTS. New content doesn’t matter when they make bad changes or half of that content is recycled, (Combat weapons, bad event, map changes only during collabs, adding OP items and not vaulting them from comp from the start) also theres more ACTUAL new weapons in wilds and even last season since a ton of weapons were just updated to be modable with bullet drop. it doesn’t feel like new content at all, it feels like they took old content, slapped on a new coat of paint and added it to the game. and honestly thats why reload doesnt feel new to me either, they grabbed the ch1 map, stripped half of it, gave it a new feature and a altered loot pool and added that. it feels like the new content is reserved simply for collabs atp

and to add on, a few points you make in the video actually PROVE exactly what im saying, “we just got the Metallica update”, “we still have the pirates of the Caribbean update” and honestly im starting to be done with the focus on collabs compared to the games beginning or even just chapter 3. these collabs just feel like a cash grab and a way to add content that they cant come up with. we have nuka-cola, tri-beam, magneto’s power, 1 new ptc collab mythic, and the Metallica mythic too! not to mention how 2 of the updates have been centered around collabs and honestly it seems to be a trend of chapter 5

Fortnite's summer update is a million times better than Apex. Apex split their season in 2 and instead of being able to buy the battle pass with earned coins from completing the last Battle Pass and now charge $14 per battle pass, which they are 2 of per season so itll cost $28 to get the battle pass for 1 season

In my opinion, the game has been on a downward trend since the beginning ch2 s4. ch2 s3 and before honestly felt really great to me, but since then, there has been so many collabs and, especially with the metaverse now, the game feels more like an ad. With epic focusing on so many things at once, the quality of everything doesn't feel as good as it was to me, so I can understand skipping a lot of what seasonal events used to be so they can spend time on everything else. I don't really feel that makes it right though because, as a huge company, they have high expectations of them set by Fortnite's player base, yet they just half-assed the event. It feels almost as if epic doesn't truly care, and yes, there have been changes based on community input and that's great, but it's typically slow and underwhelming. The split loot pools between comp and casual have been something asked ever since ranked came out with identical loot to pubs and only now they make that change and only as a "test" despite being a nearly universal sentiment as far as I'm aware. Now, I could go on about everything I think is wrong, but I think some of it comes to personal preference (and I've already ranted long enough), but my overall thoughts are that epic is trying to appeal to everyone but has ultimately made things that only really feel ok. they care more about what they can get than what they can give and I get that's pretty much just typical business, there's a difference between something like selling a typical good and upholding a constantly updated game with a player base in the millions. That's just my opinion though. If there's anything that needs clarification, ask and I'll try to clear it up. I'm not the best this stuff lol

After playing mostly other live service games over the last 18 months, I can absolutely say that Fortnite is one of the most well managed games of its kind, and we as a community is absolutely spoiled with how good we have it. I may not love the direction Epic is taking the game, but I can tell there’s still an awful lot of love, care and most importantly respect for the game and the community

To be honest i dont mind about the summer event, i play fortnite for the game itself, not for the summer events, it's not as important like fortnitemares. And guys, stop acting like fortnite will die tomorrow, thousands of people are still playing this season, the community is going to throw flowers to the fourth season just for being a collab, same with OG chapter two. Then the people will say FORTNITE IS ON IT'S PRIME after the release of chapter six to then say FORTNITE IS DYING after the emotion drops down. It's a cycle that repeats always. And remember, the most important thing in fortnite is the GAMEPLAY and the working of the game itself, not the amount of news or collabs.

im 34 klarque, lol. and im watching. lmfaoo. more than no trailer or map changes, yeah we got content a lot. but not with a summer feeling on it. also wtf is with the quests, a lot are to complete in ranked or reload where all the sweats are, like i dont mind doing them there but , the quests always were for normal BR. also this quests dont put the summer vibe to it too. its like you need to sweat some to complete them even.. i miss the old events. i hope fortnitemares wont dissapoint, cuz im too woried more about that event. as im a big fan of halloween and fortnitemares, last years was a bummer. hopes this one, be better.
