The best riding jeans have to protect while looking like jeans. KLIM have managed to combine safety, practicality and, perhaps, even style with their K Fifty 1 and K Fifty 2 riding jeans. How? Watch the first part of my review to discover just how safe you'll be in these riding jeans.

Whether riding enduro or street, The Blue Marble Rider will regularly bring you more than just the cliched “What’s up?” By taking you on a journey, reviewing a product, bike, or even a movie, I’ll try to combine my wit with my enjoyment of photography to bring you a high quality product that I hope conveys the essence of riding with some nuggets of humour, new experiences and, at times, maybe, a hard-learned pearl of wisdom. I ask nothing of you, but the chance to share experiences. Thanks for reading. Please subscribe, share, like and chuckle where appropriate.

Well thought out vid, you're cinematography is entertaining. Got the Draggin jeans because of the Mcap site, but living in Oz it's becoming the go to place before buying gear, not that we always buy what they recommend.

Thanks homie! Been riding for a little while and still making the transition to full ATGATT. Only thing I’m missing is proper riding pants instead of some old Levi’s and riding boots instead of hiking boots lol. Although I probably oughtta upgrade the gloves too

Thank you for the review. I’ve been looking and hoping someone I subscribe to would do a review on these jeans. I found your channel when I was looking for other V-Strom riders and as a bonus I saw you ride in the Pacific NW. I live in Olympia, WA, and I noted you have done some great rides in WA state. I’m a new rider at 56 years old and have been wondering what I can do for riding pants as the weather heats up. I look forward to your further reviews.

Thanks V Track, I appreciate the feedback. Yes, I love riding in the States, particularly the Pac NW, but unfortunately, was just about to leave for a circuit of the Grand Canyon through Nevada, Utah and Arizona when the C19 hit. I'll have to resched later in the year, perhaps September. A few more reviews coming out, then back to riding vlogs...looking forward to it. Cheers.

G'day BMR, I have the Draggin jeans and they do just fine at the moment. When our temps hit between 35-40 degrees celsius, then its time for the faded and worn levi's to come out! Its a risk, but hey, isn't life a risk in itself? Good video brother, will definitely watch your review on the new 1050 Xt big Vee when you are able to get hold of one. "Spicy110"on the tube has reviewed one in Pommyland, and he reckons its great! Must admit, It looked impressive. Decision about the next bike I will own has suddenly become much more complicated.I reckon it will be between the new Vee, the r1250 gs beemer, and the new tiger 900 rally pro. Thanks for the video mate, great as ever.

Great review! Which color option are these?

They're the dark blue which, strangely, are lighter than the stealth...Cheers.

Hey BMR! Any updates on these safety gear? How did they fare in the heat? It's been 2 years since this video was uplpad. Would you it have you bought more of these jeans? Have you found a comparable alternative? Is there a need for an alternative? Thanks from OttawaWill. Cheers

I like the jeans, they certainly feel safe, but as far as comfort, the pads are definitely "there". They are very robust, have worn well, but are heavy and warm on hotter days - but there's no getting away from that with kevlar riding jeans. If I were to buy another pair of jeans, then it would be between the K Fifty 2 and Draggin' Holeshot jeans as rated by MotoCap. Cheers.

One complaint I’ve heard about these jeans is that the kneepads don’t cover much of the outer knee where you would hit on a lowside. What are your thoughts?
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 3 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on the rider’s knee shape- the pads are for impact and not abrasion, and don’t cover the sides of the knee joint on me either, but if I’m going down low side, then it’s the knee/leg abrasion I’m worried about and hip impact. The hip pads are located over bone on me which works. Cheers.

MotoCAP don't have a safety review for the K Fifty 2...or seems like nobody has tested these strangely... Any insight on that?
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure why MotoCAP don't have a review on it. They are an Australian government site, and they tend to favour the most popular jeans there (including Aus brands like Draggin' Jeans). I think the top of the range Draggin on their site is as good as the K fifty 2. In the US and Canada Draggin' are rebranded...Drayko, for some strange reason (A play on words drayko / draco = dragon perhaps a play on words...?) Cheers.

Great looking pant. Klim is a good company. How about walking around in these riding jeans. How about the knee pad placement position, do they make these uncomfortable while walking?
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 3 жыл бұрын
It's a fiddle to get them right for walking and right for riding - although I am now used to them: af first it was a strange experience. However, for the level of protection they give, I worked through the initial knee pad annoyance.

Bought a pair of these, and they are comfy and good looking, while offering some nice D30 pads and kevlar protection. Unfortunately, the jeans material themselves is extremely brittle. They wore down fast, faster than any pair of jeans I have ever wore. In just a couple of months the jeans material is all full of small holes here and there and I havent felt down with them or anything, just sat on my bike. I am not a fat/muscular guy either so the jeans are not under stress. They just are weak material. Cant buy a new pair, since just a 2-3 months of usage for 300 dollars jeans is way too shortlived life span.

That's a strange one, Samuaidoggy. Mine are as tough as nails - Kevlar...if anything to tough vs comfort. I worn them for over a year and they're good as new. Where are you located? I wonder if they're all manufactured in the same place or? Thanks for the feedback though, good to know. Cheers.
