I stumbled across this video when I was trying to show my daughters how amazing something as simple as a hula hoop can be if you enjoy it and practice - and they were in complete awe at the whole concept. They were about 3 and 6 at the time, now they’re 5 and 8. I can’t count how many hoops we’ve gone through since then, but we have at least 5 right now. They love it, they like to practice and they put on a little show for me or their mom afterwards. And they keep getting better! Partly because of you. You’re beautiful and you’re amazing at what you do - inspiring! I also love your style and energy, the flow between movements and the dance moves inside the hoop are awesome! And you make it look so fun! I think it would be amazing to see you perform to “You” by A Billion Robots, and “Eurodancer 2020” by Mangoo/Dimatik, every time I hear them I picture this video to the beats, they seem to have the same kind of feel and energy. My daughters agree 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful videos!

@@SpinJoyHoopDance thank you for your reply :) I am 5'8 and a size 8. I think I could be all right with the 80 cm one, even if it is more advanced. I live in Denmark so it might be a little too much to ship it so far. I want to use hoops to strengthen my muscles and my core because of an injury where I fell of a stage and hurt my back. Do you think I will be able to strengthen those muscles if I do the regular hoops? I was thinking to incorporate hooping as a fun and less noisy warm up before the exercises for my back injury that I do at home in my apartment. So it might even be better with the smaller ones since the rooms are small as well :)

@@85catwoman give it a go with the smaller one but you may find that it puts some pressure on your back with the speed you would need to keep it spinning. When the hoop is small, you need to move your body faster to keep it going. If you're already comfortable with waist hooping you might find it ok. As an example, for a beginner I would start on a 95-100cm hoop. It makes a big difference. Won't hurt to try though!

@@SpinJoyHoopDance thank you :) I found one that is 100 cm at an online garage sale and it is adjustable, but it is one of those with a weight in it. Don't know if that is smart or if I should go for a normal lightweight hoop. Have you any experience with those kind of workout hoops?

The fitness hoops are alright for starting if you're wanting to hula hoop on your waist, but if you want to learn to hoop dance, it's definitely worth investing in a proper dance hula hoop. They're quite different and will make learning the tricks and other moves much easier ❤️
