Hendrix was about groove and feel, and was sloppy a lot. Beck isn't sloppy , and plays mind blowing stuff that's more difficult to do. Hendrix had a weird string set up to get that sound. There's a video on it here.

so you sold 10,000 guitars and you say you made no money from that, yet Signature guitars cost way more. We figure that extra chunk of change goes to the artist as a royalty.. so where did the money go? to gibson.. a bancrupt company that charges over $3000 - $8,000 for their nicer Les Pauls... i dont get it
@musicmann19676 жыл бұрын
Gibson tried to expand too much, buying too many brands and companies, and almost none of it worked out. Bad management basically. Gibson Guitars is itself is apparently doing okay, but the losses from the many other ventures brought the company down.
@brooklynboy10006 жыл бұрын
Larry Lachmann yeah. I saw those stupid sunburst speakers in the drug store and knew something was really wrong. Trying to buy up other companies etc. Well. I hope they figure it out. Personally I play fender electrics mostly
@musicmann19676 жыл бұрын
Yep, I'm a Fender guy too. I have two Gibsons, and love 'em but they're not "home" for me like my Tele. I hope the new guys at Gibson know what they're doing and improve the situation!

@j_freed6 жыл бұрын
Paul Wohlstetter - I like my Les Paul but I'd take decent cash for it. My 'new Les Paul' is my aged 52 Blackguard made by Bill Nash. Somehow it's a really perfect weapon with the perfect neck. Ugly as shit, nothing on a Telecaster fits together visually as elements of one cohesive design yet it's simply a great instrument. Beck, Page, Buchanan, Bloomfield. The best stuff.

It's funny, Steve Jones has made only one album and everybody (well almost everybody) knows at least some of these songs. JB on the other hand has made so many albums and almost nobody knows his songs. A funny little contrast between these two!
@TheCheryl576 жыл бұрын
Many people know who Joe is, but it's taken awhile. He has a huge following. After all he has played with many of the greats.
@masterbluesrockguitar49666 жыл бұрын
Oh, I'm not questioning that. My point was that despite his huge discography at least to my knowledge he hasn't any landmark songs like anarchy in the uk or God save the queen that SJ has with only one release
@petercaron37994 жыл бұрын
Pistols were punk pioneers. JB is taking an established genre and keeping it going with his own style. Oranges and apples both taste good ;)
@punkoid762 жыл бұрын
Steve has played on albums with various artists as a session/guest musician (Siouxsie and the Banshees, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, The Pretenders, Megadeth, Johnny Thunders, Thin Lizzy) recorded albums as a lead guitarist in four bands (Pistols, The Professionals, Chequered Past and the Neurotic Outsiders) as well as doing a couple of solo albums (Mercy and Fire & Gasoline). So in theory you’re wrong, though it is his contribution to NMTB that people know him for.

@@ruiplas True. I honestly think he try's too hard. Again, I don't deny his ability. Maybe adding a true vocalist would allow him to just relax and wail. I'll still attempt to listen him from time to time though.
