Nice video. You mention while explaining the input filtering stage that those coupled inductors remove the ripple coming from the AC line but i am under the impression that they prevent the ripple from going out of the TV. I checked several PSU in Hz mode and i could find all sorts of frequencies inside the board but once i measured directly before the 50Hz passes the filters i only red 50Hz. I might be wrong too but wouldnt that explain that?

Thank you for the very informative video. I have the v26a10 model. How in the world do you reach the blacklight, do you have to take apart every PCB in there? I have a faulty backlight and I want to replace it with some led+inverter I found on eBay. I've opened the tv to test everything but I can't find an easy way to get to the light bulbs like in modern TV's. Thanks to everyone that helps.

You have to remove the complete LCD panel from the reflector. Be careful it is very fragile. You will find a few diffusion sheets between the backlights and the LCD panel too. Its a major job. You may have to fool the microprocessor because Sony sets look at the inverter module to see if there are any defects with the backlight.

Man, I have the same TV, KLV-S32A10, any chance you can figure out, or if it is even possible to use HDMI with no overscan on this TV? I have a Playstation3 hooked up, and it is driving me nuts, because the TV only has Pixel x Pixel mode for PC mode (the VGA connector), but in HDMI there is only WIDE and Auto Forman (on/off) which does not remove overscan, and overscan is like 7%. so annoying. Maybe you got any idea how to remove Overscan or make is less extreme? I cant even enter service-mode, because when I hit "5" on my Remote the TV already turns itself on.

I have the 26" version and that also drives me crazy when I hook up my laptop via HDMI. I unfortunately do not have a fix for you. Sorry
@p4radigm9894 жыл бұрын
@@norcal715 you can fix the overscan in case your laptop has NVIDIA drivers. AMD drivers suck, cant fix it properly

***** I am aware of this so for the past few years I am using mainly battery powered scope UT81B....last time when I was too lazy to use it spent a week to fix an inverter who blows mosfets after a few minutes because of dried 12 volts supply cap
@brig.43989 жыл бұрын
***** that's why we have isolation transformers..you plug the set into the transformer and now it's safe to use your scope. but you're right the first time I used the scope I heard a big bang, lucky I didn't blow something up, just blew out a fuse because I didn't use the isolation transformer.
