Great breakdown Spag The most impressive thing to me was that Knee managed to win this entire set without having to guess mid or low. (Except 2 instances @2:32 after heat dash and @11:04 after the heat engager) In a game thats infamously claimed to be random and casino, Knee looked like he was still using very high percentage decisions. He never let Rangchu/Kuma get in a position to force a mixup on him and he avoided the fake hunting bear mixups using sidesteps. Also notice that he won this entire set without needing to block a single low Sure he had a couple callouts in neutral like the low parry @5:40 and the orbital after the heat burst @10:28 But overall it was still a very high percentage Tekken 7'esq playstyle that was almost transposed to Tekken 8 where instead of using backdashing, low parrying and safe counterhit keepout tools as the high percentage options, he is using constant frame tight poking and lateral movement against a character that cannot step the pressure making those options high percentage in this game and in this particular matchup.

Love watching the master at play. I feel like we're going to see even more of that EVO 2022 dominance from Knee now that he's accustomed to Heat and Sidestep has been improved. Knee is a God of Lateral Movement and composure and Bryan's hard-hitting Punishment is a perfect fit for Knee when he finds those Whiffs off of the Lateral Movement.
