Knife Ban: Weapons Have 'Never Been Easier' to Purchase

In May, we were able to purchase 5 knives online without age verification at the point of purchase or delivery, while 3 of the purchased knives were left in an unlocked shared porch area. 2 of the purchased knives included a zombie knife & zombie machete, which are due to be banned from 24th September.
The government has launched its zombie knife and machete surrender scheme before a ban comes into place. However, ninja swords, like the one that killed Pooja's son Ronan, are not included in the ban.

Nobody told them that a kitchen knife is just as lethal?

Exactly... I used to buy all kinds of weapons as a kid. Pretty much every martial art weapon you could think of, I owned it. And most of the knives displayed in the stores are a scam. They look impressive, but that's all they're designed for. They're usually flimsy AF, made from cheap metal and plastic. You're lucky if they last a few months before falling to bits. The best knives are owned by chefs and tradesmen - butchers, fishmongers, etc. There are also professional military knives of course, but they just don't look as impressive.

You wanted to make it a Black problem, now it’s the knives, Britain has a culture of thuggery that you all refuse to address. Most Youth cannot afford to purchase these knives where do you think they get them from?

Unfortunately kitchen knives make up most knife crime, i personally think this zombie knife ban will make little difference. A lot of objects can be used as lethal weapons. Its the mondset of individuals. Was never a big problem when i was a youth.

Ridiculous this will do little to address the issue the problem is the police are not doing enough stop and search, banning stuff is pointless the largest amount of knife crime is done with kitchen knives in the uk are they going to ban kitchen knives? maybe the innocent law abiding citizens should use a butter knife to cut their onions... In the 1900-1950s their more dangerous weapons available to the average person in the uk due to different legislation back then (world war 1&2) such as guns and swords with LESS overall attacks than now maybe it's time the uk start addressing the underlying causes instead of blanket bans.

Here in the United States , the American Indian tribes were all taught as children how to properly use knives for all sorts of purposes . The real weapon that they were taught to use as a child is a tomahawk , an extremely versatile and highly effective weapon for hand-to-hand combat . Watch the movie “The Last of the Mohicans “ and it will open your eyes to hand-to-hand combat using knives and tomahawks .

when i started working as a chef i had to buy my knives in 2 ways from a shop or a salesman who went round the places i worked these were all legitimate businesses . i can remember the first shop i went into on my own to buy professional kitchen knives i had to supply address and proof of employment . perhaps we need to go to a system that all bladed items must be sold over the counter by a registered seller that means anything outside carries an escalating fine per offence and serious time for crimes . but if you cant prove legitimate reason to have a bladed item on you at any time its an offence . its time to get draconian

I suspect that ninja swords aren't banned because maybe it's argued that they're a martial arts training tool. That's the only reason I can think of as to how they're used in a non-street setting.
@tomalong99
@tomalong99 12 күн бұрын
The problem is in order to legislate something you need to define it, and defining what is a 'zombie knive' or 'ninja sword' is much harder without hindering on legitimate use. Most stabbings are with kitchen knives which we cant ban.

I don't think knives are the problem take them away and they will just sharpen kitchen knives and back in the 90s early 2000s me my mates nearly always had a swiss army knife or some cheap equivalent and it was just an unwritten rule you dont use them on other people

If the gov cared about high crime rates they would simply send all the serious crims convicts to rowanda by boat to serve there prison time thus acting as a deterant reduce the crime rate in uk . As theres no room in uk prisons the pm should consider a consultation on renting prisons overseas inc rowanda 👍Also saving millions of taxpayers money

Really!!!!???? Is it an issue of knives????!!!! England's problem with knife attacks did not exist many years ago as they do now today. And why is this so?? The answer is extremely simple. The real problem however is that the real cause of the issue goes directly back to the people who caused this mess. And whom am I referring to? The political leaders of England!!!! It's easy to deflect the obvious responsibility. The leaders refuse to acknowledge their part in this for obvious reasons. The leaders have allowed Muslims into England. The people carrying out these attacks are Muslims. Most people see this. However the leaders like letting Muslims into England because they accept money from the Middle East Bribes!!!
