How about you can only move with attacks or by jumping. No running, walking, backstepping, or dodging. Can only use Left Analog after an attack button or at the same time jump is pressed. And no attacking out of combat unless its to break stuff.

@@kaschey6145 Oh, anything else would be allowed. Also, the backstepping and dodging was something I just came up with. The rest of it I got last week (so jumping or attacking as only form of movement, and no attacking out of combat, so you have to jump to move). Barons Castle did something similar in his Bloodborne as FPS video (slow form of movement so forced to do the unthinkable and actually kill everything in a game about killing everything🤣)

51:55- i just realized why the king couldn't defeat Nashanda. We, as players, can easily dodge around the curse orbs. But players are almost always the smallest characters in a souls game. The king's hit box is too big to avoid the curse orbs. He is playinmg one of those "get 5% biggest with every kill" challenge runs, and hit the boss he can't beat due to his scaling.

As a heads up for future DS2 runs, the Blossom Kite Shield is actually *hurting* you here rather than helping. The shield has enough weight that equipping it actually makes your stamina regain slower than the benefit the shield provides. The shield is only useful if you are using it as a shield, since it basically becomes almost a 0 weight shield. So if you aren't using it as a shield, do not use it, your stamina will actually regen slower 99% of the time. It's only really useful at extremely low equip load, or if you're actively blocking with it.

The Fume Knight fight was particularly interesting for this run. Drinking estus directly behind him always baits his overhead slam, which always empowers his sword, which prevents him from entering second phase. Pure coincidence that this play style is really good for fighting him specifically.

In my experience with this game, taking a little extra time to grab some Seeds of the Tree of Giants can be immensely helpful for dealing with invader NPCs. Make the gank work for you, not against, and sometimes even get a bit of a distraction in the process. Could also pick one as your starting gift, but I've yet to have a run where the Bonfire Ascetic was the wrong choice there.

Left-handed needs to be used more. It’s Boxing strats. The liver is on the right side of your body. So if you are left-handed, you can hit it easier. Similar to how most enemies are right-handed and have a shield in their left.

The Cutter actually has very different Run- Roll- Dash- Backstep R1/R2 Variations, who aren't very popular outside PvP, probably because this weapon Is impossible to Gem Properly, has awful stat requirements/scaling and has the Worst Mixed Damage Types imaginable =D I remerbered a DS2 Run, where a Player used a broken Bluemoon-GS and just used the Bleed Proc to dps -> there is a room to down-mod Cutter in a similar way :D Anyway! your Challenge Runs Rock!

I now started a challenge run, thanks to your inspiration, where I play with the starter class, I think warrior, without leveling up, so basically only getting better with equpiment, rings and weapon upgrades. It's quite fun, going to the places I know I get better equipment from and stuff, but also still dark souls 2 SotfS, so often pretty annoying as well 😅 But I have to say even with low adp and health, I'm pretty good in the game compared when I first played it. If I manage to beat the game with that, I'll try a run as depraved and who knows maybe even without armor or something

I mean, I'm all for bringing this back for how hilarious it is, but it wouldn't really be very good for proccing status effects. You'd still always much rather have an actual fast multi-hitting weapon like a dagger or a rapier, since heavier weapons never have enough status damage on them to make up for their attack speed, and this still isn't a lot of hits when compared to a lot of others, like Repeating Thrust or Blood Tax. Personal recommendation would be Antspur Rapier, since you can infuse it with Bleed or Poison, apply any Ash of War you want, and it comes with innate Scarlet Rot build up. Alternatively, infusing it with just Occult will maximise its' Scarlet Rot build up, at the cost of sacrificing another potential status effect build up.
