Definitely tie the bimini/albright knot on the water/boat. But, at home tie the bimini/ loop to loop/ wind on leaders. (imho...) New subscriber to your channel, Thanks !!! Tight Lines ...

Thank you, it's very clear to me, you make it very easy. My question is : can I use this knot for smaller sizes of leaders and braids, like 80 lb fl and 50 lb braid for casting? It's will work or no need for it, use FG or Albright instead of it

Sorry, just occurred to me it would make a great blooper reel shot from behind as you're quickly, (could say feverishly) working the Bimini knot over your knee and slathering it repeatedly with saliva. Gives a new meaning to cranking down on the old knot eh :D

Curtis, are you sure the knot broke, or did it pull through? I always tie a stopper knot in my knots. A figure 8 knot, or double half hitches. Try that, I hope it works.

To join braid to flouro leader? It is my preferred braid to leader knot, although I do a slight change near the end and use the three strands of braid and back to back fig 8 them together.

@DH actually I'm trying to figure out what type of application where you need the bimini knot. I know the FG is for casting lures on long leaders and I guess for jigging but none of the tying tutorials actually mention what it's used for.

chapstick. it seats a knot better thank anything else I tried. apply sufficient onto your lips before you start with the knot and use your lips to apply it to the knot before you synch the knot. it seats the knot Best.
