Really great to see financial education on this channel, especially with such an amazing guest. I would however really like to see an expert who challenges some of the assumptions that we need growth, and what that could look like in order to live within planetary boundaries e.g. someone like Kate Raworth or Jason Hickel. Especially as a business person, it would be interesting to explore what businesses look like in degrowth

I don’t agree with the sentiment that we should “get used to recessions.” That behaviour enables banks to be greedy in the fractional reserve system and governments to make dangerous policy! Banks and governments should be held accountable for their actions and normal people shouldn’t have to suffer as a result of their greed or incompetence.

We have more recessions as our currency isn’t backed anymore. Gordon Brown sold all the gold which made the value of money completely volatile, leading to massive inflation. We should consider full reserve banking where the currency is backed and stable again.
