Cao Li That's what's stupid about the League MVP, it shouldn't go to the player who's team has the best record it should go to the most talented player in the NBA. And from 2004-2010 NOBODY was better than Kobe Bryant. And in 05-06 and 06-07 he was the Lakers. Dude averaged like 36 PPG and single handedly got them into the Playoffs.
@andreio109 жыл бұрын
dixonmixin10 I think it's all bacause of the trial he had. NBA has been against him since then, NBA wanted clean players as league's face, Kobe never had the same dickride as MJ or LBJ. He would have deserved at list 2 more, al list! Beyond that, also consider that in his prime years he had a terribal team, he wasted three years from 2005 to 2007 in which he was just unguardable.
@LuckyLefty929 жыл бұрын
Cao Li I see the argument you're trying to make, and you're right. Those Laker teams in the mid 00s would've been lottery teams without Kobe. He kept them competitive in the West, and couldn't be stopped. He was definitely the most VALUABLE player. The notion that the MVP should be the best player on the best team is one of the dumbest in any sport.
@LuckyLefty929 жыл бұрын
Cao Li I would say it's a bit of a stretch to say Rose was a weak MVP. He still averaged 25 and damn near 8. He won it more so because he had the numbers and his team overtook Lebron's as the best in the East. My opinion is, no matter the logic you look at it, Kobe should have several MVPs

It comes down to style, nothing else. Spurs always give up mid range shots which is why Kobe feasts against them and LeBron struggles. On the other hand Kobe would struggle a lot more vs the 2015-2018 Warriors because he always struggled against high octane offenses (2005-2007 Suns, 2011 Mavs, 2012 OKC) - teams that require teamwork to beat. That's what LeBron is great at

It's funny how Chris Paul stans claim he was "robbed" of 2008 MVP when Kobe led a lesser supporting cast to the best record in the West and while only having Pau Gasol for 1/3 of the season In hindsight, the 2008 WCF further proved that Kobe was far more deserving of MVP since he easily beat the same Spurs team that Chris Paul lost to with far less help on both offense and defense 2008 Lakers vs Spurs in WCF Pau Gasol - 13-10-4 on 45% FG - 73% FT Lamar Odom - 13-10-3 on 40% FG - 69% FT Jordan Farmar - 8-2-1 on 46/42/100 2008 Hornets vs Spurs in WCSF David West - 20-9-2-1-2 on 45% FG - 84% FT Peja Stojakovic - 13-5-0 on 45/48/93 Tyson Chandler - 9-10-1 on 74% FG - 57% FT and 2 BPG Chandler also was mainly responsible for Duncan's offensive struggles Chandler held Duncan to 15-13 on 42% compared to 24-16 on 46% Duncan shot 42.1% FG in the 2008 WCSF, the 3rd-worst FG% he shot in any series after the 2005 Finals and 2016 WCSF (Age 40 - last series of career) Duncan also had 2 points in the 4th quarter of Game 7 against the Hornets (on a foul by David West) and shot 0/4 in the 4th quarter when guarded by Chandler. CP3 had far, far, far more offensive and defensive help than Kobe, yet Kobe sent the same team that eliminated CP3 packing in a quick 5 games. Clear proof he was the vastly superior individual player and deserving MVP Had Chris Paul won the 2008 MVP, he would be the only MVP to never reach a Conference Finals (though now with him riding Harden's coattails, this likely won't last) further proving he was not deserving of the award.

Not Saying this cause he Passed. Since the very first time I Saw this Man Play I knew he was Special. My favorite player of all-time KOBE BRYANT.💯 R.I.P Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant and the seven others we lost on that dreadful Tragedy.🙏🏽😢😭💙

You can’t tell me watching these highlights that kobe isn’t a top 5 player all time. Even after he’s been retired a couple of years, no one has come close to matching this type of difficult shot making. Tough shots for most; routine for Kobe. All-time great.

San Antonio couldn't do anything but watch the ball go in the hoop.....time and time again.

he said you want to force kobe to be a jump shooter HAHA, its pick your posion because its going in
@humphreykentbalane89913 жыл бұрын
It's the least they can do lol, ofc you don't want kobe to drive to the basket and get lay ups or fouls, so they lock down the paint and let kobe shoot anywhere but not near the basket

Alot of people don't realize that the 08'Celtics and 04'Pistons are 2 of the greatest defenses ever plus the 03'Spurs. All better than the 93'Knicks and Pistons of that era.

The teams of the decade (2000s) playing in a playoff series! I wish the MVP chants at the FT line meant something now :(
@albertmorales32333 жыл бұрын
This was one of Kobe's best performances, hands down... this was just another one of those situations where you're never out of it if you have Kobe on your team. He had the Spurs' number and there was NOTHING they could do to stop him. He was clearly the MVP of the league that season and it still puzzles me how he only has one MVP to his name... let's not beat around the bush, he should have more MVPs than Duncan, let alone Nash.

Greatest Basketball Player Of All Time !! This man played in the toughest era (early 2000s) Took on prime Duncan, Iverson, Dirk, Nash , Lebron. All MVP players 🐐🐐🐐. MJ would never

@@calvincoleman7543 we watched the same game game right, kobe had Pau gasol, the spurs had tim Duncan, tony parker, and Manu Ginobili, and he still lost, if you truly think there is an argument you can tell that to someone who doesn't watch basketball

This is the same EXACT team Lebron lost to in 07 a year before, stating with no help playing with nobody's but yet Kobe was killing this same exact spurs team in their prime & got it done!! With only turiaf, ariza, Walton, vujatic, Radmanovic, farmar & A Gasol who hasn't experienced basketball but sef for the first round. Kobe killed the spurs Yall. Gregg pop will tell you that!! Hell even skip Bayless will tell you that! lol he loves his spurs.
