Great stuff. I do security and I can definitely see that having some knife defense potential. A lot of people underestimate the importance of body mechanics, and that's what I like about wrestling from what I've seen so far - the understanding of how your and your opponent's bodies move/operate.

Ok security man don't try to be a hero or bad azz, remember your number one best defense against a maniac swinging a knife is RUN AWAY FAST, as in VERY FAST IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION

When i have a wrestling having problems doing a firemen, i have them do it without grabbing the leg. It really improves their firemen.

YES! this is exactly what i was looking for. I recently got fucked over for the season, did horrible and i need to have redemption, too bad it's my senior year, so i'm taking judo and freestyle to make it a good year hopefully. first year in judo, and we can't do wrestling moves until ground work hits in, so i love the firemans, but i can't touch their legs cause it's illegal and what not, this is sooo perfect, i'ma try it out ;)

this is an awesome move. and not that im a BJJ black belt or anything, but seems it would be safe to do in BJJ as well considering the 2 on 1 prevents a guillotine attempt

if you shooot between the legs a good BJJ guy will crucifix you - this is the only way to hit a fimans with a high success rate and keep control in BJJ great stuff

yeah its legal in greco. anything in greco is legal just as long as you dont attack that legs at all and this move is using your opponents arms so yes, its legal

Advantages are if you have the Russia tie tight enough you can complete the move without releasing and having to secure the leg. Also, opponent may not be expecting this. Last thing is that it can be used in Greco-Roman. Thanks for commenting!

In Submission Grappling, we worry about our opponent trapping the arm with their legs (crucifix back-control), so Firemans Carry is overlooked. I still manage to use the Firemans from the Russian Grip, but is it worth trying to attempt the overhook-fireman without reaching through the leg?

Make sure you have a tight grip on his arm and wrist and when you drop under him - keep him tight on your shoulder and tuck your head like you are almost trying to do a forward but not going through with it. This motion will keep him close to you when he hits the mat so you can cover him for some back points.

Highschool wrestling is folkstyle wrestling. I'm new as well and I tried doing a few tosses and throws here and there but they said it wasn't legal in this type of wrestling. So I don't know

This is legal in HS although what Cary is showing u is mote flashy than anything and u need the good pressure back from ur opponent for it to be a clean move. Wouldn't recommend any HS wrestler this move imo. Stick to what your coaches teach u.
