녹두전 is actually a North Korean dish. My family is from North Korea and the traditional way is actually to put only a little bit or no kimchi and add mung bean sprouts :)

Thanks for showing this recipe without the bean-sprouts and fernbrake...appreciate it a ton... i made korean mung bean pancake using yellow split mung beans, Chapssal (korean glutinous rice), mung-bean sprouts and fernbrake/gosari and kimchi..next time i will make it just using kimchi and split mung beans as you showed hehe...yes yellow split mung lentils/beans are known as "Moong daal" in Hindi (one of the indian languages). We use Moong daal a lot in Indian cuisine/recipes as well...hehe...

Made this for dinner and it is so yummy:P I tweak the process a little bit....soften(sauteed for 3mins) the onions before mixing it in and i use beef broth instead of water when i blended the mung bean :) really good! Thanks so much for this recipe :D

Hi Aeri, If I make this without the pork will I need to adjust the seasonings at all to compensate? Or will it be o.k.? I figured I could put the garlic that would be in the pork into the batter instead. What do you think? Love that this does not use wheat flour!
