THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! Last time I went to Korea I had a panic attack every time I visited a cafe (which was almost every day tbh) because the cashier or person taking my order ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE A CONVERSATION or just started asking me like tons of questions and even if i speak some korean I got really nervous and just stared at them like an idiot ㅠㅠ so yeah, thanks for saving my life with this video lol

OMG I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING. Something about the robotic nature of the speech during the skit as well as the empty facial expressions and the wig is just completely hilarious!! Every video on this channel is kind of like a quirky comedy show.

I’m a Barista and I live in an area where many Koreans live so I wanted to learn how to at least say “ would you like your receipt”? But I learned more. Thanks.

This is very helpful! I am learning Korean on my own and I need this type of detailed explanation to help me with my pronunciation and spelling. It's hard for someone like me who grew up speaking only languages that are based on Greek, Latin, and old Germanic but I am making progress. I can even write my name in Korean now...yeh!

Ah! This is very useful (as are your other videos!) I haven't been able to really dive into all of them, but I was wondering how often is the Romanization used with Korean text? It seems to be distracting when learning the writing form (at least personally). But on the other hand it looks like it can be helpful for when someone just wants to learn the speaking portion of it? I don't know, it's just weird and I'm sorry. From what I've seen so far, though, you make wonderful videos and I'm excited to look through them more! You have varity of things covered just from a quick glance. Thank you so much for taking time to do these videos!

I've been learning Korean for two years and I have -never- used romanisation. As you said, it distracts from learning hangeul. Not only that, but often people use different versions of romanisation rather than the official standard, which means you might end up pronouncing a word wrong if you rely on it. I still love Professor Oh's videos as it's easy to ignore the romanisation completely and read the Korean words instead. Hope this helps! :)

Ally W Jasmine I just want to learn to speak casual Korean phrases and sing K-Pop songs so the romanization REALLY helps me. Show me "와이파이" and I won't know what that means, but "Waeepaee" I could immediately associate it with "Waifai" and in turn "WiFi". Take away the romanization in Korean textbooks if one wants zero distraction, but please keep them in KWOW, Professor Oh.

I realized something pretty important (and I’m very proud of myself for it so I’m writing it down): 3:32 The words each mean something: 여기= here, 서= place particle, 마시= drink, and -(으)ㄹ거예요= is a suffix that means (I) will do__ Sorry for the long one lol.

In real life they didn't talk slow like this. The cashier type people (카페, 서점, 등) are the fastest speaker. They fit the entire sentence in literally less than 0.5 second. I was like "what the..."
