I was searching for a recipe that looked like the pancakes my local korean bbq joint makes and yours is the only one that comes close. Thank you! Most other recipes call for a store bought mix so thank you again giving us a "from scratch" recipe!

The slight char is key! Gives that ever so slight crunch. I visit my parents about once a week and she would make these occasionally which results in me devouring them (literally as she makes them and puts them on the plate) which leads to my mom yelling "Yah!..Don't eat it all!" I love these so much that I wish I could just sit on a stool next to my mom as she makes them and have her just shove them in my mouth as they are done. Thanks for taking the time for your videos, especially the ones with Korean comfort food.

Oh you're so welcome. Thank you for watching and sharing your story! I love to hear about families and their traditions/comfort foods. Just like when my mum would make Thai fishcakes or banana fritters. I always would hover around the kitchen eating them as soon as they were cool enough! LOL

Im half Korean. My mom makes this with different ingredients but when she uses shrimp, she cuts the shrimp into 3rds and mixes it with the batter so they don't separate after they're done like they did here but it looks amazing. Thank you for the video

I feel like traditional Korean pancakes have a lot more scallions/garlic chives in them than these do. Like there is too much batter in these. I bet they're still tho

I appreciate your comments on naming conventions. When I was a child spring onions/scallions were marketed in NSW as Shallots. IKR! Don't get me started on spinach/silverbeet/chard.

When I grew up in South Africa we also called Spring Onions "Shallots". That has however disappeared since people there have discovered the real shallots. Swiss Chard was also called Spinach. However that too has changed as authentic Spinach has become available there too

Love the idea of this, thank you for sharing! Quick bit of feedback: in most of your videos, there seems to be a loud rushing sound in the background when you're speaking - I imagine it's an electric chimney's fans. Is there any way to sort that out, or record audio before the chimney is turned on? That would make your recipes even more of a treat to watch :)

I tried this dish when i was in Korea last year, at first I didn't know what dish i would get because there was only Korean menu in the restaurant and the owner couldn't speak English, so it was totally blinded order, i just pointed to the menu having no clue what kind of dish it was. Then I got this. How lucky I was!!! It was delicious that I kept smiling the whole time out of satisfying while eating it. Now i will definitely make this for dinner.

Ive been making these Korean pancakes for years with all kinds of additions. If you use mushrooms, you might want to saute them first to draw out the moisture or they will make the pancake watery. I like to put some diced up kimchi in these too. enjoy!

Thanks for this video as a re-interpretation of Korean style seafood pancake! :) The only comment from me as a Korean is that we always use chopstick esp. for dishes like this. For Koreans, it just look so far away from our food culture as we normally don’t use bare hands on during dining. Maybe even close to never. This looks as if someone is feasting over a whole 6 ounces of sliced steak and A1 sauce with bare hands. I’m happy as many of viewers can enjoy Korean-inspired recipes from your video and do truly appreciate your content here, but I really wanted to point it out. Thanks, again. Hope to see more of your delicious cooking vids!

We're trying to reduce our meat and fish intake - see Seaspiracy and Cowspiracy - it opens your eyes and makes you think differently about meat eating and the planet. I'd love to see more vegetarian recipes although I know you can adapt many of these to vegetable/tofu dishes. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful recipes. All the best!
