Carina Whitham exactly, it causes doubting, overall I feel like it would just degrade ones confidence in themselves. Imagine going out looking like a whole other person being liked for what you put on the outside, then going home to take it all off and go back to disliking and finding things to pick about oneself. I feel like the whole concept of these are so sad, I mean, I have a rather chubby face by nature and I would never think to do this.

Maggie C I also have a super round face and embrace it. I think insecure people who are uncomfortable with themselves try anything to change into what the media deems as attractive. Why does she imply that it's for girls with chubby cheeks, as if chubby face is something that needs to be altered , and with such nasty techniques at that. Just plain envy. What should be altered with that is stretched saggy thin skin more likely....but the mask has to be taken off eventually.
@cs-mh2dh6 жыл бұрын
It's a Chinese trend. If you are comparing to the videos of Chinese girls that use it, it helps to mention they also use a computer program that helps to give the illusion of a thinner face. The tape alone does not thin their faces like they show in their videos.

@remi nii people believe Caucasians age more than others. Some truth in that because people with more melanin experience less side effects of the sun but if you wear a sunscreen regularly that protects against UVA as well (sunscreens always protect from UVB which causes skin cancer but UVA causes aging so looking for something that says broad spectrum or PA+++ however many pluses they wanna add will protect your skin from aging) then it won't matter what skin color you have, you shouldn't age any quicker than your genetics decide which is rather slow in comparison to what the sun does to the skin. Edit: for the record just having some or a lot of melanin does not completely protect your skin from the sun, everyone should wear sunscreen

1. I've lived in Korea for 10 years. I haven't seen face tape in the main beauty stores (Olive Young, Lohb, Lalala). So this isn't super popular yet. People probably order this product online. 2. That product IS Korean. The wording is weird but maybe they did it for marketing purpose to make it look foreign? K beauty is a big thing here but most of the face shapers (in Olive Young type stores) are Japanese or Chinese. Have been forever. 3. I found the product's website. The HQ is in Kangnam. The entire site is in Korean. If they are faking, they went through a lot of effort. Who is going to double check the website in the store? 4. This is the first video I've seen of yours and I'm subscribing purely for the "pipe down" comment. For the Koreans watching this, getting upset that she used some non-Koreans in the video, that is what happens when your products become popular! No, this 'trend' isn't ONLY in Korea. I'm not sure where the trend started. But this product is Korean, K beauty is super popular around the world! Enjoy the Korean wave~
@YOOWOL6 жыл бұрын
While I understand your motive here, it’s not okay to teach us Koreans or anyone for that matter how to feel about this. We don’t care how this is supposed to propagate K-Beauty’s success. Majority of Koreans are sick and tired of the Koreans are fake and plastic stereotype, which is not even true. Videos that are mistitled like this can only propagate how “obsessed with beauty and shallow” Koreans AND DEFINITELY NOT how advanced the beauty technology is.
@Hip.Username6 жыл бұрын
@@YOOWOL I can totally understand what you're saying, that would be very frustrating. I can understand the original commenter's opinion too. I think it's a misunderstanding due to marketing tactics from SK, not from the Korean general public so it's confusing to the rest of the world. I'm American and watch youtubers and TV shows from many different nationalities, and it really does seem like SK associated with cosmetic surgery but mainly from Korean TV. Maybe it's due to actors and idols who undergo surgery because their agencies suggest it (which is sad for the celebrities who have had nothing done). I remember reading a few years ago that SK had the most cosmetic procedures done per capita, but then I read from a Korean commenter online recently that those statistics are due to Chinese coming to have procedures done (I have no idea if that is true lol). And then of course there is the perceived stigma of being overweight in SK, really any Asian country. I read that there are some employers that require applicants to include photos in their resumes, and lots of other things like that so that it makes SK seem very superficial. My guess is that because the rest of the world admires the "korean beauty regimen" and how Korean celebrities look, SK profits from that and markets more to other countries. And that in turn creates the misunderstanding that Koreans do these things. I don't think it's intentional, I've never met anyone who has said bad things about Koreans for this, I've only heard concern for the strict dieting and unfair beauty standards that Asians strive for in general. Sorry this is long and I don't know where you live, but I just wanted to give perspective from an American who is marketed to in this way, and to let you know that most people who aren't Asian don't look down on SK at all despite being told conflicting information. And just ignore the rude people because they don't make up the majority!

Try kenesiology tape, Lou, and place the strips about a 1/2" below your earlobe at the jowl spot and draw up (tape stretches) just BEHIND your lobe all the way around the hairline at the nape area to the opposing side a 1/2" below the lobe and stick. Just like using one of those Art Harding facelift gadgets with the stretchy string going around the back of the neck, but more comfortable and effective. Special hack of mine for special occasions

You can get this product, or should I say similar product, here in the US... I am a Nurse and have seen this used widely in in hospitals, and if you ever had an IV inserted for any length of time you have seen it as well. It is essentially Tegaderm strips. They can be found in first aid section at any pharmacy. They are VERY thin, very stretchy. You apply as desired and hold hand over the strip to apply warmth which aids in adhering it to the skin. They are waterproof and are meant to cover a wound or incision or inserted needle to keep out germs and moisture. They are so thin they are almost undetectable. And, although I have never seen or thought of such a thing used in this way, I see its functionality. Leave it to the Chinese people to figure this out they are ingenious in their inventions and uses of things. I have never tried to apply makeup over it but I assume it should be doable. If you are that interested, I say, Experiment. Cheaper and safer than plastic surgery. Although Words of wisdom here. Just be you and love yourself. And this wouldn't be necessary. As people age (Men and women alike) our skin elasticity and features of our face change. Any reasonable human knows this. And if someone doesn't accept you as you, well they just aren't worth it, as you can't wear Tegaderm stuck to you forever.
@annabellabells66476 жыл бұрын
I do notice that Chinese people have a very square shaped face and a very flat surface. It's really exotic to a western look so I can understand why they would want to use tape because who wants a square face and a wide flat nose. I've seen the nose putty videos as well.

You don't need to tape your face. You're gorgeous! You should try some of that fake Halloween skin and build it up, like the makeup artists do in movies. That might make it fuller. Not that I've ever tried it, but I heard someone say recently that there, "are no rules for makeup." Even then, you have a thin model face, you don't need a fuller face. I've always wondered how they do the nose thing? When you see them peel it off it makes you want to do it too, so you can freak everyone out. Plus, wouldn't it be cool to look totally different so you can talk to people you know, and they won't recognize you? Then you'll know what they say behind your back... :) Love your videos! I have chipmonk cheeks I would so give it a go!! But I don't think I'd have the patience to figure it out. Your first reaction when the tape fell off you looked at camera and said "oh" was the only reason I finished this video. Your reaction and presence is real. You have taped up a new sub doll. 🤗

It's kind of like breast implants, I've heard of them being done in the USA, I know it is popular on tv, but I don't know a single woman who has them. Nose jobs, liposuction, butt implants, still don't know anyone with them.

It's not the tape that truly creates the V face shape. There is a popular Asian app called MEITU that has a "beauty filter" that creates the dramatic V face shape we see in most of those Asian transformation videos ^_^. Another KZbinr mentioned it when she gave her tutorial on how to do it. I do love that you tested this product out though. Your hands on approach is so very Nancy Drew, it's adorable!

Vast majority of these are double eyelids/eye surgeries for health's purpose, that % drops brutally when it comes to non double eyelids/eyes surgeries for health's purpose, and that ON THE HIGHEST SURGERIES PER CAPITA CITY OF ASIA Database hurts uh?

I am Korean and this is my first time seeing this product. No one around me uses this. I don't want to have a V-line by using this. This is weird. Other Korean women will agree with my opinion. There are many Korean women who don't want makeup themselves because of feminism. Your video make other people misunderstand Korean women as obsessed with looking pretty.

What the heck are you talking about? South Korea is THE place where plastic surgery is most common. Your Pop idols look like Barbie and Ken dolls. I know a few Korean girls and one of them wears circle lenses every day and speaks with a high-pitched SUPA-KAWAII-MOE voice. Your country does have an issue with beauty obsession. A very big issue! Not to mention fashion trends. A new jacket comes out and everyone needs to have it ASAP, even if it goes out of trend next season and ends up in the bin. Or course I'm not saying ALL Korean women are like that. Of course not! And it's not even their fault. But Ulzzang is a thing and your country does have an issue. Don't ignore it. That's not going to help.
@별자리-i1e6 жыл бұрын
@@nanacondabjj9324 I think so too. But she needs to know the effects of her video. Her video causes misunderstanding about Korean women.
@별자리-i1e6 жыл бұрын
@@Hitogata It's funny that you're criticizing Korean. You guys put fillers on your lips to look like Kylie Jenner and get surgery to have hip like Kardashian's. And color eyelashes into black. I think you should not ignore that. Look your own country before criticizing Korean.
@Hitogata6 жыл бұрын
Haha I'm not American, I'm Portuguese. But sure, that is a huge problem as well! I wish everyone would just accept and love themselves as they are. And I understand it's very difficult, with media bombarding us with "perfection" all the time. And I'm the first to criticize my own country. When you love something, you gotta be critical of it as well. Ignoring problems won't make them go away.

can you tell me about that sculpture clay stuff? what is it? i keep seeing these videos of these women peeling off their noses. i have never heard of anyone using this in a makeup routine. is it durable? like could you wear it out without looking crazy?? or do they just use it in these videos for dramatic effect and using it in public would definitely make you look insane. im just curious. im a makeup fanatic so all the different techniques are very interesting to me. im definitely not knocking it. the girls look fantastic but the difference is just so dramatic!

I actually just returned a tape-on faux-facelift set. Completely unused. Couldn't bring myself to try it. The Asian cosplayer teen girls use this tape on their already completely youthful jawlines to pull their faces anime-tight. It's unbelievable. They recommend taking off the surgical tape with a remover; otherwise, you can pull off your own skin.

I remember a few years ago there was these tapes that had bands that went behind your neck to give you a neck and face lift. The bands where hid by your hair (if you had long enough hair anyway lol) and they really did work BUT OMG I thought after wearing it for hours and taking it off whether or not this would be a good thing to keep doing because it seemed like it was actually STRETCHING my skin and so I opted to not do that anymore. Can you imagine that you are at dinner with a date or something and it comes undone LOL Obviously catching up here...one more and I'm caught up LOL xoxo Mary

In Russia, there is a dish called "Морковь по-корейски (Korean carrot)." It is a pickled carrot and a lot of Russian are surprised after knowing that we Korean don't eat them, we just have nothing like it. It just was born in Russia. (The "Korean carrot" tastes good at least.) But you can see, a lot of people might think that tape is unnatural and stupid at first sight, so did I. Besides, the relation Korea and China can be compared to the one of Poland and Russia. You might know what I'm implying here. That's it. I know this video is your work and this channel is yours, but it is still open to viewers. You may stick on your rule, but I hope you to understand why Koreans feel uncomfortable and don't let us just shut up.
