Agreed with most except for Lores. Lores are awesome and can make the music cohesive. It's interesting and feels like an adventure creating theories on what's gonna happen next. I've never seen anyone hate on groups for their lore being "awful" compared to other kpop lores. But yeah if the music don't bop then their is no point for lore.

what i want to add to the 'all rounder' conversation is that: 1. honestly, almost all idols who are said to be 'all rounders' are just average or slightly above average in dance, singing, and rap. there really hasn't been an idol who i think is actually exceptional at all 3 as they will always either be lacking in one department or as I said before, just average or slightly above average in everything. I believe that idols not actually being all rounders can be attributed to their ages and the type of training in kpop. i mean, its hard to be sufficient in everything with good technique, when you are 18 and your company doesn't actually teach you most of the basics. 2. I think that this 'all rounder' rhetoric is limiting the level that idols perform at. Companies now trying to market their groups as having 'all rounded members' and the pressure to be all rounded from fans doesn't let idols and trainees to focus enough on one category. This often leads to bad habits, especially with singing which you need a lot of technique in, in order to not strain your voice and be able to sing well live. I think this all rounder and ace standard created is actually pretty harmful, as harmless as the idea may seem.

Yes but the thing a lot of people don't like is the fact that, that's the whole point of being an idol. That's not something being said to attack or bash idols who aren't all rounders. We don't expect them to be the best of the best or do some crazy back braking, organ twisting or bone cracking dance move everytime but we do expect something. When it comes to k-pop you are singing, or rapping but also dancing when it comes to music videos and performances. That's just how the k-pop industry is. That's not to say that it's not harmful and that, that idea shouldn't stop but that is to say that over time the more and more we've seen rappers and singers also dance while singing and rapping it's become normal and something to expect.

exactly, its just a buzzword fans use to hype up their favs. there is no "ace" or "all rounder" in kpop at all. I'd appreciate it if they just hype them without setting them up because I've been disappointed with some idols fans claim to be above-average in everything when it just turns out they're very mediocre at best. han jisung of stray kids is probably the only one i can think of as an all rounder and actually a real ace. he’s one of the members of 3racha(producing unit of skz), he can write, compose, and produce. he’s got one of the best techniques in rapping, probably next to changbin. his vocal technique may not be as the best as seungmin but he can belt and hit female key with ease, he always have been reliable when it comes to vocals. he doesn’t have a dancing position in stray kids but he’s still considered as the hidden member of danceracha(skz’s dance unit) as he leads those dancebreaks without a dancing position, that alone speaks a lot. and his stage presence, he’s got one of the best stage presence, not just in 4th gen but k-pop in general.

any kpop stan that starts refering to 'haters' unprompted in a comment section is an immediate red flag. 8 times out of 10 they are the type of person who is so undyingly loyal to the fav group that any sort of constructive criticism directed towards said group will be seen as a crime on the level of 1st degree murder. I understand that most of these people are probably young kids but goddamn are they annoying.

About Stan attractors, you're absolutely right. I was never into EXO until I watched love shot and saw Kyungsoo. I didn't hate them or anything like that, I just never got into their music until Kyungsoo. I don't know whether he was a Stan attractor but damn, I'd have missed this bad ass group.

But in EXO all the members are stan attractors. Kyungsoo is not someone people will disrespect just for being a visual as she mentioned, he is one of the main vocal ,but it's true that Kyngsoo always would take your attention no matter which gender you are ( with his voice he is the first attractor for even non kpop fan) but for last 2-3 years Baekhyun is definitely the biggest stan attractor of the group.can't forget Kai though.

There are some self produced groups whose music I will never listen to and some groups who don't write their music that I enjoy so much. And it's so much worse in 4th gen now. istg weeeklys concept change will be one of my top dissapointments of this year. Weeekly was basically my ult group bcus of their concept+their talent and personalities but the concept change is a real turn off for me for some reason they just really owned the other one and really brightoned my life up. ist literally changed it bcus some dailee's wanted to see monday and zoa in a powerful concept. I love the girls sm soeun has been my ult in kpop since after school which is a really long time for me a huge multi stan but im srsly struggling to stay a fan of the now bcus the concept change/music change isnt my taste in kpop rn. 2years ago it totally wouldve been my vibe but rn im on a "refreshing" concept kick srsly tho like why "mature" the groups music while most of them are still under 20yrs old who all owned the fun concept and was literally queens of it. Plus the autotune esp since they have such pretty voices already its just too much theyre trying too hard for a quirky bon bon chocolate if theyre going to mature the sound already at least be more unique to it ya know plus it was so out of nowhere i wouldve been able to deal with the change if i had a heads up b4 the teasers. Im not hating on them like dont get me wrong i love weeekly they owned the song its just not my music taste as of this comeback and im just disappointed bcus they were my ult bcus of theyre music so i am ranting here

honestly about the “least fav member” i can totally agree. I am a IVE stan and I like every girl in this group. Nevertheless I’d be kinda sad if I get Liz, Gaeul or Leeseo’s photocard in my album. They are amazing but I just don’t vibe w their personality or anything. When I was watching 1,2,3 IVE I just didnt pay much attention whenever they were on the screen. They have nothing to catch my attention (yet) I’m sure in the future it will change but at the moment I am only focusing on Annyeongz & Rei

Idk about the stan attractor thing tbh. When I’m first getting into a group I almost never know anything about any of the members. I only start learning about the members after I’ve decided I wanted to get into the group, but maybe this might change once I start getting into more groups

I think , having a least favorite or can't able to vibe with a particular member happen with multistan who stan a lot of group casually.I can see and understand where they come from , but if the group is your main ult / or you don't necessarily stan other group ( you listen to other's song but don't go deeper into their personality)then you can't have a member that you can't vibe with.if you have a least favorite member there, i don't think it's your ult group.

I think it's normal to have least fav members. When youre in a group project for example that happens as well. Nothing's wrong about it. It only gets "wrong" if you start to throw hate on the least fav members you have. However, a lot of Kpop fans (mostly immature or delulu fans) can't accept you liking their favs a little less than they do. But those people need to grow tf up

1:08 As a fan who values talents over visuals, I don't think it's completely a bad thing that kpop stans are obsessed with all-rounders. This only means that our standard for idols have now upgraded. Praising a multi-talented idol does not mean a denial of praise to idols who specializes in one aspect only. Both types of idols deserves attention but you can't blame people who prefer well-rounded ones.

Speaking on the second to last one about a least favorite member, I have something to add. I’m an NCT stan. They’re my ult group actually. I always feel bad about basically never getting bias wrecked by Haechan, Johnny, or Ten but basically everyone else has. I always feel bad about it. I know this has no correlation but I just want to vent : I got attacked on tiktok for saying that Mia should get less lines because the line distribution in everglow is so bad ? And everyone was like "it's normal that she has the most lines, you're delusional, I would give the most lines to her because the others except sihyeon because the others are mediocre singers" and then I was like " she doesnt need to get the most lines, just make it fairer, the other members are also part of the group etc.. I mean i get why people think that the most stable vocalists should get the most lines, but there are a lot of easy lines that even the weakest vocalists could sing well during live performances, but it's frustrating seeing that even those easy lines are sometimes given to Mia. One thing is giving her main vocal parts that only her and Sihyeon could pull off, another thing is giving her the easy parts that the other members could sing even if they're not as vocally strong as she is.

These are 2 of my opinions Some Armies are very toxic and annoying - I see so many armies always bringing up BTS I see them always trying to promote BTS even in other fandoms like BTS is already the most popular group and whenever I see BTS losing an award show the award show usually gets so much hate for not making BTS win there's always so many armies promoting BTS and bringing other groups down I also see alot of armies hating on their idols for interacting with other idols or celebrities like when v and Olivia Rodrigo had there little interaction Having a bias dosent mean you hate the idols - Just because you have a bias don't mean you hate the rest of the group it's perfectly fine to have a bias and you shouldn't try hiding that you have one

No I really like him and his kind and calm personality but I can’t vibe with him like I vibe with my bias in BTS (Hobi) But I still love all of BTS Namjoon just happens to be my least fav. sm no doubt has a crap ton of trainees they don’t know what to do with. they may all be talented and have great potential (i mean, how could they not, they passed sm auditions) but only a select few of them have that “it” factor sm is looking for in a new group. so it makes sense why they would make something like nct (no hate to nct. very talented group) to give their trainees a chance to debut. better than all the other companies that have all these trainees and don’t do anything with them.

I don’t think huening Kai’s sister is talented actually, unpopular opinion🙂😀 (and no I’m not a fan of him he’s not my bias, beomgyu is🫠) But she’s actually not that good, I don’t think her singing is like super amazing, to me she doesn’t have a really good voice, and her dancing is so stiff or like soft, and when she dances she has this weird creepy look on her face, her eyes are literally wide open and it doesn’t look like she knows what to do with her face, she doesn’t look as cute or natural when she smiles as the others, cause she smiles with her eyes wide open and it just looks creepy and cringey😭 so that’s just my opinion, cause I literally haven’t seen anyone do what she does
