Here's a video of Former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik playing Fabiano Caruana (World #3) on his live stream in a Titled Tuesday game earlier this year. After weeks and months of hard work and consultation with many specialists, we have managed to add an eval bar to the game. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: This is a light-hearted video meant to showcase a good game played by Mr. Kramnik online. Please don't take it too seriously.
Thanks for watching!

just keep in mind that most statements he has made are 100% correct- THE ONLY REASON why is is hated as much as he is right now, is because he called out hikaru on suspicions for cheating... One of his statements is that online chess has a massive problem with cheaters or something along those words, and he is absolutely right, nowadays especially in the lower rated side "below 2000" i cant go 10 games without facing a cheater. Most of his hate is coming from assuming a famous streamer/chessplayer is cheating in his games, and while even I think he is wrong on that part, i still respect on what he has to say for other things and him being a true G for calling them out.

@@TheNoobHamster You say most of his statements are 100% correct but then you give a single example of something that everyone agreed on even BEFORE he started his "crusade". So what exactly did he bring to the table to solve this problem? Instead of drawing attention to actual cheaters he's going after Hikaru, Jospem (who proved himself legit), Danya + others. Now he doesn't understand how easy it is to edit a video and calls that cheating.. Seems to me like he is actually helping cheaters by deflecting attention and usually just gets frustrated because he can't handle a mouse as well as other players.

@@TheNoobHamster that is the "only reason". In fact, it's not even the main reason people don't like Kramnik. The primary reason is he is a poor loser and jumps to report any player that beats him to save his ego. @telemahos2

No they don't. Kramnik is valid to question how these processes behind the scenes (involving editors etc) could be exploited - now or in the future. How they remain unregulated within a dubious context of money and content-making (so there's motive). And how it's problematic within the new, changing, context of chess playing (i.e. online, corporate monopolies etc.) that they still remain unknown in their specifics.
@PostWin

@@telemahos2No Kramnik is not valid in anything this especially this new eval accusation -Kramnik accuses Hikaru of having the eval bar on stream even though he doesnt and its only on his videos. -Kramnik says such work will take a long time because other people said so, making him entirely uneducated in this regard and its either him or the people he asked are lying about the it. If Kramnik doesnt know how this works, maybe become educated on it and ask actual editors before accusations. Just like the statistics accusations, all he is doing is making his ignorance known and embarrassing himself

@@telemahos2 Unregulated? People can edit their videos all they want and add million eval bars if they wish. There’s nothing to be regulated in that. Kramnik again knew nothing about the topic and jumped right to the false accusations without a second thought. He even begged the other top players to ”raise his voice against such a clear violation of rules”. Pathetic. He managed to prove that cheating could be possible by not showing the viewers the same view as he sees which shouldn’t be big news if he knew anything about live streaming. Instead of ”questioning” he decided to directly accuse again and it indeed backfired. Just pathetic.

i think it's genuinely stupid when people ask us to be respectful of Kramnik at this point. he seems incapable of treating any other human being with respect in any way: he says he has "statistics" that prove certain high level players are cheating (even though he didn't even graduate high school), but he won't show it to any of the many math professionals in the chess world or submit it to be peer reviewed; a person who edits full time tells kramnik (a man who I am sure has never done any editing to any video other than exporting) this is possible, and he says 'wrong'; kramnik touts himself as being one of the only people who fights chess cheating for REAL in the online space and he can't even recognize when an account has actually been banned for cheating. he's completely lost it and it's pathetic how people treat him with kid gloves, even Levy did it in his interview with Kramnik. he said he "doesn't understand that sort of thing" when talking about Kramnik's phony statistics but Levy has a degree in stats. he could EASILY study the paper and tell him exactly why Kramnik is wrong but then kramnik would block Levy on twitter and refuse interviews, so he just ignores it and lets the man exist in his ignorance. Kramnik is a man who is nearly 50 and is acting like a 9 year old on a playground.

@@dgmullin1 clicking+clicking is actually by far the most reliable way to play. Watch and laugh how many times the "draggers" will mouseslip a piece by dropping it where they didn't intend to, or drag the wrong piece and drop it when trying to grab another one, usually resulting in cussing out the mouse (you know who I'm talking about ;)). Perhaps the only significant advantage to dragging is it is faster (and safer) in a time scramble. Kramnik, being quite old school and not even growing up with online blitz, doesn't really "do" time scrambles, if you know what I mean. Most of the guys you see dragging are going to be doing rapid mouse movements (even when they don't have to hurry), playing some form of blitz or bullet. There is also a (less relevant) argument that it's "more natural", which is why a lot of people may start out dragging and stay that way out of habit.

Also, I notice he doesn't pre-move the capture at 2:58 or 4:53. if the chess play interface is too much for him, of course he is going to be suspicious of everything. (Does he seriously never pre-move?)

How is dragging better than 2 clicks? How many ms are you wasting on a click?

I'm a perfectly sane, mentally sound adult. I click twice to be certain I don't accidentally move my piece to a square I didn't want it to be on. Mistakes like that can happen. I also have my pre-moves turned off because I play time controls where it isn't really necessary, and to force myself to consider a move before I make it. Do you consider me crazy?

Kramnik is valid to question how processes behind the scenes (involving editors, software etc) could be exploited - now or in the future. How they remain unregulated within a dubious context of money and content-making (so there's motive and lack of deep interest to expose problems). And how it's problematic within the NEW, changing, context of chess playing (i.e. online, corporate monopolies, popular players, money-making etc.) that they still remain unknown in their specifics. The questions Kramnik raises are valid and useful

Besides the suspicious eval bar, I think this game contains a lot of mistakes for both sides even when the time isn't that low. So I guess it isn't a cheated game? Of course, he still needs to explain why it appears tho.

I don't really know what Kramnik is talking about here as I'm out of date with this drama, but neither do I understand what you prove with this video. That you can add an eval bar to a video? Obviously there's a big difference between a live stream and a pre-recorded video. Do you mean to say the "live streams" Kramink was referencing, where there was an eval bar, weren't livestreams?
@joshjac81010
@joshjac81010 3 ай бұрын
Hikaru uploaded a video on youtube of his livestream with an eval bar. The eval bar was edited in and isn't a part of his livestream. Kramnik insisted that it is too hard to do that for some reason and insisted that it can indicate that Hikaru is cheating.

I would agree with you, except I think you are wrong. First, Kramnik was #2 behind Carlsen for years, and that was already beyond his prime. He was over 2800 in 2016, only the 2nd player in history over 2800. Today how many players can you count at that rating? And that's with rating inflation, as it keeps climbing. He's literally one of the chess GOATs. He retired and I don't think he has anything to prove. Second, Kramink has never had an issue losing to players he perceives as "good". If you ever watch any of his TT's, as I have a few, he is usually begging to play someone normal who plays OTB, like Carlsen, Caruana, etc. And he has no issue losing to them, and he is quite critical of his own play (and aware of his declining ability). So I think you are dead wrong in this assessment. The players he resents off the get-go are the relatively anonymous online-only types, which is where his trust issues come in and you can see he immediately starts to find their moves suspicious. Given that there actually are quite a few cheaters and you see guys getting banned all the time, presumably what he is experiencing is more like "delusion" where he starts to think more people are cheating than actually are. So while Kramnik can hold his own against the "classic" players who play OTB, especially in longer time formats, the new population of blitz specialists (with unimpressive classical ratings, but trained to find quick tricks and tactics) are a tough ask.

This is pure speculation on your part. You're making up nonsensical reasons for why you think Kramnik is accusing others of cheating. This is something we cannot possibly know. I think the most likely explanation is that he just genuinely believes other GMs are cheating. Is his suspicion misguided? Yes, that seems to be the case. However, we can do better than imposing these ridiculous motivations like "he's unhappy nobody is talking about him" or "he can't accept that young players are improving faster than him" onto him
