Hey guys this is a quick video for a krator fairing install if you are using a MoonsMc or Jdcustoms headlight block. Hopefully this clears up some confusion about headlight blocks and fitment.

dynademos how long is the bolt that came with the moons mc headlight block? Also I already have the block from somewhere else but I’m also rocking z bars 14” with 2” raiser at the moment till I’ll transition to tbars. Info would be great in addition I also have led light bars as well. Good job by the way. Which one of you is the marines lol doing this video is like giving an opord.

It helped me a lot to take the two brackets off the fairing and put them on the bike then attach the fairing to the brackets. I'd suggest giving that a try

I have a 16 Street Bob also, how do you like the way the fairing looks on it and did you get the tall one? I have the big Harley windshield, and I like the reduction of wind noise when wearing a half helmet. Does your fairing quiet things down? If you have time, it would be awesome to see a picture of your bike.

Just installed my krator fairing on my 2010 Dyna wide glide pretty simple install except for some reason the moonsmc headlight block did not fit… It was so tight it had the bolt going in at an angle and would not make it through the hole.. I took a file to the side that rests against the triple trees for about 30 mins and got it on, but just a heads up for those with wide glide front ends it takes a bit of filing to fit perfectly.

Austin Hamilton Acoustic I’m 5’8” as long as u mount the fairing to the bottom triple tree as show in the video. You will not have an issue👍🏽 i look through maybe an inch of the windscreen over my gauge pods minimal obstruction

just so you know: i bought a $89 Krato 15'' windshield with fairing black/smoke... it is the same thing as my sons he paid $700 from Harley dealership here in San Diego. Haha... just did the install and good to go... got it from internet site called KapscoMoto... free shipping..

@@dynademos the large problem i had is i have a older bike 1997 FXDL top mounted head light with all my lighting for turn/bright lights/neutral indicator..mount plate is on top above the head lamp?? so now what? cannot install that easy plate you get .... so buy or find in your junk pile like i did a bracket that will work on the fork tubes . this is what i did, just clamp to the fork tubes... now i must make a lower bracket to anchor down the lower end of this fairing... just cannot clamp top side. if it comes loose which happen to me once your in trouble.

Doing this today. The one thing I noticed is the bottom of my triple tree is not flat. IT bevels in a bit so won't be a flat mounting surface. Not sure if yours is the same by dyna is an 04 do may be diff but I got the moonsmc block hoping it works I also got a bottom mounted headlight bucket to get rid of the "eyebrow" and top mounted light set up

Cool video. I am realizing however, after already installing my Lucky 13 bars and wiring internally, that my fork mounted signals won’t fit with this set up. I am running a moons MC headlight block. Any suggestions? I’m going to try mounting the headlight block on the top of the bottom triple tree/mount the fairing on the top of the top triple tree to see if that works but, we’ll see.

Matt Decker will the turn signals mount to the forks underneath the bottom triple tree? If not I’d try putting it on the top like you said. dm us on Instagram pics and we might be able to help u out further or if it works show us pics of the finished product👍🏽

Hey guys, thanks for making these videos. I have the Memphis Shades extension block but for some reason my headlight wiring cable is really short on my 17' Low Rider S. If I get the Moons MC one, will it fix that issue? Maybe I had the Memphis Shades one setup in a diff config.

suprasoldier97 you might just need to pull some slack out of the neck of the bike and that should fix your issue the new headlight block wouldn’t make a huge inference in distance although I highly recommend the moonsmc headlight block

Born2R!d3 I’d never buy a V2h again... I’ve rode the krator probably 2k miles and it’s still strong the windscreen isn’t the best material it’s not clear like a jd customs windscreen would be but for 90 dollars can u beat it ?

jojopuerto well I’ve never seen a sportster with a tsport but Memphis shades definitely makes the gauntlet for sportsters if u look at our new vid the bike we picked up had a gauntlet with the lip check it out

Running this same set up and getting some buffeting, were you able to adjust the windscreen at all? Mine seems pretty tight in upper plastic wedges

Fab a bracket or drill a hole or swap the lower tree or get a different fairing

What was the reason you lowered it? i have it on the top but it doesnt make the bottom bracket flush so i dont use it, plus i have a wide glide and sometimes things are limited on that

I lowered it just because I think that’s the way it was suppose to be installed it worked both ways through

No it does not slide maybe u need a shorter bolt so u can make it tight too the tree ?

MrSandevils 3 1/4” long,13/16” wide , 1 1/2 “ height, 9/16 height on the step down bolt hole for mounting block to triple tree is 9/16 from center of hole to end of block. for headlight mount hole its 1/2” from edge. The cut out is 1 1/4 in length. Let me know is this helped

Did lowering the fairing with the new headlight block reducing wind buffeting? It’s pretty bad for me on the highway.

Dave Howard id check out the jd customs wind buffeting kit or make your own. I can’t say for certain if it helped but I prefer it lowered to it sitting high. Hope that helps

I used Memphis shades (MEB9885) block extensions for my 2011 wide glide and didn’t work , placed bracket on top and bottom of triple tree.. want to try JD custom .. what do you guys recommend ?

No I haven’t noticed any vibration I’m 5’ 8” and don’t do a lot of freeway riding though so maybe it’s all going over my head I love my krator fairing. Also it’s only 90 dollars nothing else even comes close!

catfishpaintballer ensure all of your mounting hardware is tight that would be the first thing I would check.

I went ahead and got a 9/16”-3” bolt without realizing you were probably referring to the head size not bolt size, anyway, moons included a bolt with the bracket but maybe just edit that one part to make it clear! Other than that wicked video and helped a lot 🤙🏼
