I can understand the original creator of God of War despising what they've done to Kratos considering his journey through the new games brought him somewhere the creator never intended for him to go. But I think it's really important in this age to have some really great examples of healthy masculinity, and it does things to my heart to see the God of War community appreciate the relationship between these characters, especially in the dlc with 2 gods of war and the smartest man alive discussing how much love means to them.

kratos would have never said this in previous games even the last one, not because he was """""""less mature""""""" or """"""""wise"""""""" but because he has always been pragmatic, realistic and straight forward, mimir is right feeling that way because he is literally just a head, he can talk and be a companion but he is entirely dependant on kratos and it would be the same for siggrun, the best he could do in his state is give siggrun ocassional advice like with kratos and some head but a relationship, specially one that is meant to last a lifetime requires mutual support and teamwork far beyond than just words wich mimir literally cannot give. I think is great that the new games wanted to give kratos redemption and explore more about him as a person but romanticizing kratos sympathy has lead to some absurd moments like this one.
