Growing up in the 90s watching Spider man animated series, Morbius, Madam Webb and Kraven were some of my favorite characters. It saddens me. i've always wanted these characters live action, and they get treated the way they did with sony.

I never understood the live action fetish. Both for American and Japanese animation. This title should be on a big screen.... This character should be in a movie. Animation is a great and solid artform.

I feel bad for Aaron, he went hard for the role, but he had to know what he was signing up for, this could have been something awesome, it’s such a great character, but you know Sony, they gonna go and Sony it up! Thank goodness they have given the MCU creative direction of the property. Best move Sony has ever made!

They did the character dirty and supernerfed both Eddie Brock and Venom with how they made him a 12 year old girl with ADHD and his Eddie was more like weenie Michael Cera than Eddie Brock from the comics. And they were so dark that you couldn't see what was going on a lot of the time, especially during the fight scenes..

I still plan on seeing Kraven even though my expectations aren't very high. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a great actor but nothing could save a film that was dead on arrival. Especially when you have bad writing and dialogue according to the reviews I've been hearing. And especially when it feels like even Sony didn't have faith in the film to begin with.

For various reasons don’t get out to the movies as much as I want these days, but this is one I wouldn’t mind seeing in the theater. Don’t mind a good fun movie, whether it is “good” or not, for me it’s about do I enjoy it.

ATJ was Kick Ass. He’s a great actor and does his best with every role including his role in the Fall Guy. The issue is the bad writing, the bad execution and the lack of crossover with the MCU. Sony had a chance with all of these movies to tie everything in but didn’t and that’s what doomed these shoot off movies including Venom. They wasted those opportunities especially with Tom Hardy who wanted to make good movies but was denied because of the lack of imagination of Sony and Marvel who let pride get in their way instead of putting it all on the table to make relevant movies that kept fans excited and wanting more.

The Penguin series on HBO MAX did not have its titular hero, but Batman at least EXISTS in the universe, just did not appear in the show. Having a movie where your hero does not even exist in that universe is "pointless"

That's comic books for ya. If you want realism, try the show Cosmos or documentaries. Not comic book related stuff. I do not understand people that want comic book movies to be more realistic. They have magic characters and time travel in comics for crying out loud. Sometimes aliens with powers, sometimes interdimensional beings, or sometimes it's a simple chemical spill accident that gives somebody their powers. If you can't watch a comic book movie without the suspension of disbelief, then comic book movies are not for you.

I had/have no plans to see Kraven this weekend. I usually wait until my local theater’s discount Tuesday to see new releases (the rare exceptions were seeing Deadpool on a Thursday Opening Night screening and seeing Argyle during a weekend my mom was visiting). I’m glad Sony is abandoning their live action Spider-Man adjacent stuff. It really hasn’t been good overall. They should have done a licensing agreement with Marvel to just make the films on their own, and Sony just gets like 15-20% of the profits for doing nothing. It would let all the Spider-Man characters interact in the proper MCU and put an end to travesties like Morbius and Madame Web wasting great characters with terrible, nonsensical plot lines and garbage direction.

Still seeing it this weekend. I think it looks pretty good. Is it comic kraven? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable. And he's one of the few Spiderman villains that had an origin before coming across Spiderman. I hope people see it and it makes a little money.

If Sony used their head, they could have capitalized on live-action Miles Morales Spiderman, Spider Gwen, and Miguel O'Hara Spider-Man 2099. Spiderman Noir may have worked. But the writers need to stay close to the original content.
