I was hoping you would create a detailed video on artificial sweeteners. I have IR and PCOS so I started putting Sugar-free in my tea. I don't have a sweet tooth but I like to enjoy my two cups of chai with little sweetness i cannot drink bland tea. But then my doctor friend said Sugar-free is bad for you - I knew she was not entirely correct, after all she is the doctor! But watching your video made me happy. I will just share this video in future if anyone starts lecturing me on artificial sweetners and their exaggerated side effects.

Me tooo. I cant exist without my morning filter coffee. Drinking without sugar isn't an option for me. So i do take stevia or monk sugar and on every 1st morning, i treat myself with sugar coffee. But feel very guilty. My doctor too warned me of the after effects of artificial sweetners. This video is a life saver for me.

Doctors can be a bit outdated, especially in India. They know the fundamentals. But when it comes to nutrition and the latest research, they are generally not up to date. Next time, ask them why is it bad and explain a bit more thoroughly. If they give a handwavy explanation, then it would be good to consult a few more doctors to get a better idea. But artificial sweetners can cause false insulin spikes, though. So don't overconsume. Stevia based ones are the most safest but truly genuine ones are a bit expensive.

Artificial sweeteners are often used as sugar substitutes to reduce calorie intake and manage blood sugar levels. However, they can still trigger insulin release through the cephalic phase insulin response. This occurs when sweet taste receptors are activated, leading to insulin secretion even before glucose enters the bloodstream. And this can lead to insulin resistance. If thats the case then how come its better than sugar we eat?

There may be other issues I don't know about, but I had a close call with this one so I try to bring it to any conversation on the subject to that those with pets can do their own research.

Hi! I just started following you and I have to say I **love** your videos! One thing to note though, since I have not heard you mention this, but consuming some sugar substitutes (mainly talking about sugar alcohols) in larger than moderate quantities can have laxative effects, which can be damaging to your gut health, which should not be overlooked. So choosing your sweetener is rather important in this context. Of course, if your sweet tooth is not that strong, you can opt in for sugar alcohols, since they provide sweetness quite similar to traditional sugars, but the minimal laxative amounts of sugar alcohols is not all that low - and especially if you have IBS, you need to choose carefully. Otherwise, I found the video very informative and again, thank you for your work ♥

Honestly, a lot of people forget/ignore that you need a risk/benefit analysis. Artificial sweeteners vs 'natural sugar' (not to mention the 'better for you' jaggery, dates, honey) - the latter is much more likely to lead you into diabetes. Those of us who have seen loved ones die of diabetes are more scared of sugar than cancer; those of us who have been unfortunate enough to experience both are scared of all of that ... and yet, human nature being what it is, and more importantly, basic biology, we do want our chocolate, ice cream, cakes, sweets etc...
