I had to stop watching for just a second when you mentioned about a “friend” who said wouldn’t you like to be naturally beautiful. I can see that it still resonates with you. She was either jealous or just meant that we all need a little makeup to look a bit better. I think you are very beautiful and I know you weren’t “fishing” for compliments when you told that story. The lord truly shines in you and that beauty is evident both inside and out.

I had to stop the video there too and rewind to make sure I heard her right. Kristen, I am so sorry that you've carried that little thorn with you, I am sure your husband has tried endlessly to pluck it out for you....but it never really goes away. It's because of our fallen culture. I have always felt that exact way as you did growing up, I always longed to someday get that natural beauty just heavenly bestowed upon me. I was a late bloomer in so many ways and felt I had finally "made it" to the cool and pretty avenue by my early 20's. I've actually never felt more accepted for the way I look than once I had children.....it would make me cry with comfort that my newborn baby wasn't grossed out by my adult acne or my bad breath or my greasy hair. She just accepted me exactly as I was in every state and I like to think that's how Jesus loves us/sees us. I wish I could give you a hug 🫂! I'll be praying with you for continual grace and acceptance of ourselves, even as we age. 😊 ❤

@@KristenHoffman That comment was so cruel...and probably sadly came from an ugly heart, but you are very beautiful! I hate it had such an impact on you. As an identical twin, people didn't think anything about commenting on how they could tell my sister and I apart, not realizing some of their comparisons were less than complimentary and had an impact on both of us. We look so much alike that sometimes even our father couldn't tell us apart. At school people would actually discuss our appearance right in front of us and say things like "I can tell them apart because this one's face is rounder" or "that one's nose is more prominent" or "she's a little bit shorter" or "she has a freckle right here" or even " her voice is deeper" and the comparisons would include whatever else they may have noticed about us to determine which one was which. I truly don't think they were trying to be mean; they just seemed to be happy they were clever enough to figure out a way to tell us apart...meanwhile we were taking note of all the comparisons and would allow the sometimes rather insensitive comments to bruise our self-esteems. We are in our 60s now and some people still can't tell us apart. 🤔😝

I think people get use to seeing us with makeup and if they see us without their first reaction is to ask if we are sick or if something is wrong , my dad has asked me that lol. You are beautiful without makeup and makeup just highlights your beauty. I was never good with makeup but certain KZbin influencers have really helped me. If you find one that is around your age and skin type sometimes you can find good products and tips. I love your sweet nature and love for God. ❤

I don't wear make-up or do any face treatment, never have. I wear liquid liner and every now and then red lipstick at church on Sunday or a special occasion, otherwise none at all. I’m a fair blonde as well. Recently discovered tinted moisturizer vs tanning lotion. It is far better as you have no mess! Also any lotion will remove make up. Just make sure it says non comedogenic so doesn’t clog pores. That was advice from my dermatologist!!

I grew up with 4 sisters. We were all considered very pretty by outsiders. My mom was s teen in the late 1930's. Hollywood beauty was a big deal. She always commented on how we looked and felt it was sooo important. Every one of us do not go out without makeup. I feel pretty with makeup and plain without it. I can relate totally to your story. I have similar coloring to you and I'm often asked if I am sick if I don't have makeup or tanner on. I was even told once, without makeup you can't see my face. Thankfully I have outgrown those insecurities with age, for the most part. Kristin, you are very pretty without makeup. You are naturally pretty! For makeup remover, I suggest the washable bamboo pads with micellar water. Whatever you use, don’t pull at your lashes. Hold the wipe over your lashes to loosen the mascara up, then wipe away. I got the bamboo pads on Amazon and the water at the drugstore

You are beautiful inside out! Don't let people get to you. I know the feeling all so well. When you said that, that was said to you you made me cry. You see I come from a family of 6. 4 boys and just my sister and I. My sister is beautiful and all of my uncles on my dad's use to tell me that I was the ugly duckling. This stuck with me my whole life and I hated myself for being "ugly" I had to learn that I am not perfect and thats ok. Long story short about 11 years ago the same uncles that use to call me an ugly duckling told me that I had become a beautiful swan that I had grown into my looks. If you’re looking for some inexpensive natural beauty remedies just go to your kitchen! I use egg whites for a mask all the time and it works so well for firming, organic pastured is the best. Also you can use coconut oil, olive oil and honey to cleanse and hydrate. I also love to use homemade kefir as a probiotic face mask. Oatmeal makes a gentle exfoliant

@@KristenHoffman, my heart goes out to women who are chasing the current fad by Micro-bladed dark fat eyebrows onto their faces. My understanding is micro-blading is permeant. Some fool is going to eventually declare pencil thin eyebrows are the new standard of beauty… then what? I wish we could all see beauty in who we are and not in what someone else’s definition of beauty is.

I loved this video! You are so cute and relatable! I used to buy very similar beauty products due to it being all I knew, convenience and cost. Now I have made the switch to more natural products and my skin is so much healthier because of it. What I use now is also just as affordable - if not cheaper! - than the drugstore products I used to use. For makeup, I have fully switched over to the brand called "Undone Beauty". It is affordable and it goes on so soft and smooth, it feels like skincare rather than makeup. Makeup remover: coconut oil Face wash: diluted Castile soap (the unscented baby one) Toner: witch hazel And I make a simple homemade face serum and moisturizer. I hope this helps if you actually want to try some natural beauty alternatives without breaking the bank!

You are naturally beautiful! I'm 66 years old, wrinkles everywhere and my face breaks out from stress. Also on blood thinner because of blood clotting disease. I hate wearing makeup all the time and have gotten where I could care less what others think I look like! God loves you just the way you are!

First, the person who said that to you did not have your feelings in mind when they spoke those words to you. What they said speaks volumes about their lack of character. I hope you know that. I think some people say ugly things in a “nice” way to try to cover up that they are actually trying to be hurtful. Second, girl you are beautiful!!! I was watching the video and my heart broke that anybody could say that to you being that you’re so pretty without anything on your skin. Third, we are such a superficial society. Beauty is more than skin deep. Look at the beautiful life you have made with your husband. Look at your beautiful home. The wonderful content you are able to create to share with a community you have built! That adds happiness to our days too! ❤

Ive had many people say similar hurtful comments to me as well throughout my life. As ive gotten older, ive learned to love & appeciate my unique look! God made me this way afterall & i also look exactly like my Mother & Grandmother. And they were beautiful in my eyes. I have pale skin, blue eyes, dark hair, and very blonde eyebrows! I make sure to wear sunscreen because ive had skin cancer twice now. I think of it as primer! Thanks for sharing, i got a lot of tips! And, you are beautful before and after❤!

You are so gorgeous naturally. I would suggest Cetaphil for cleaning your face at night. I am over 40 and have just now started getting texture on my face. I also use an ice cube before I prep my skin for bed … it helps with circulation and it just feels so great. moisturizer right after. Ice is also great on those annoying break out spots. It reduces redness and inflammation

Kristen, you ARE naturally beautiful. Also, I’m 41 and I still get acne if I don’t do a daily honey mask. I’m a beekeeper so I use my own. I put it on after I wash my oily face lol!!! I let it sit for 5-10 minutes while I shower. It truly keeps my skin super clear! It’s the only thing that works for me. Anyway, try to give yourself some grace. You really are beautiful. I used to use wipes to clean make up off but for years I have used coconut oil. It is cheaper and leaves your skin soft 😀
