I knew I wasn't the only one who watches these recovery stories over and over again! And I also imagine sharing my recovery story. Lots of goodness in this conversation. I live with both HIV and ME and I can without hesitation say that ME brings far more suffering into my life. I've lived with both diseases since before the internet existed and having this channel and access to online communities has been a boon to my understanding and well being. Thank you, Raelan and thank you, Kristyna.

Raelan you are an Angel!!⭐Such a lovely interview and I love how you bring humour into healing, the image of doing all those crazy alternative and natural remedies I used to each day in the past when I was trying to recover, haha what a journey we have all been on, and how that we get to help and inspire others, it makes it all that much better! I had some happy tears watching this, Kristyna found me through your wonderful channel, so incredible she gets to share her recovery story now as well, huge well done Kristyna!! The work we do is so meaningful, giving hope and direction to the people who most need it. I commend you Raelan, you might not realize it but you are literally saving lives with the inspiration you share. Let's all help and inspire as many people to heal as we can!! Much❤

It’s because the information is so scattered and all over the place and most people are used to treating everything physically. I thought I had adrenal fatigue which is partially true but the treatment was not complete. It wasn’t harmful but it was incomplete until I realised how every time I had stress relief I felt better. I started seeing an energy healer and psychotherapist once a week. After each visit I felt significantly better. Then it occurred to me almost a year later that I should be doing this every day and for a significant amount of time. Before this I was doing my morning walk with affirmations maybe a short meditation here and there. The most significant improvement came when I started meditating 3-4 times a day first and then uplifting my mood using visualisations. It’s basically because I your brain has become used to producing stress chemicals and you need the relaxing and happiness hormones to counter that. I understand that now.

23:00 Exactly 💯. Six months banging on the doctor's door to get diagnosed with cancer, but once in the NHS system, 3 months of brutal treatment and recovery....job done...I was lucky. Superb support from health care staff. Amazingly the post viral fatigue I had been suffering from for five years went into remission as I recovered from the cancer treatment! Unfortunately it came back again 4 years later... Pfizer jab added PEM into the mix to land me with CFS. I won't be beaten!

I relate so much to the cancer/HIV fear from doctors. When I was at my worst, it was from seeing the most amount of doctors and being on the most meds. The stress of getting tested for HIV, maybe needing a biopsy of my tongue for cancer, taking fungal pills etc. All while not knowing what’s wrong. That stress is like the worst thing that could happen to someone for CFS. But I guess it is fair that from a doctors point of view, it is good to rule those things out. I just wish there was a way that was a little more straight forward or less stressful.

Brain retraining is really hard. For me it didn't work. It worked at first, but it was a short term effect. I don't know, maybe working with a coach would make a difference, because I did it on my own. But having lost the effect discouraged me and I couldn't make myself do it any more. Also, I have ADHD and I really struggle with doing the stuff I dislike doing. I'd rather stay ill. Yes, sounds horrible, because ME is the worst. And still I can't make myself do it.

Raelan Agle please do, there is so much mystery around brain retraining, if it helps people then it would be a great service to break it down into exactly what is happening when you are brain retraining? The programmes may be proprietary programs but the principles or the knowledge on which they are built isn’t. They have built these programmes on previous methods and studies. So I am sure you can break it down because that would be the biggest help for all of us.

Raelen I hope you include in this video the possible danger of brain retraining programmes too. With this I mean overdoing it and pushing far over your limits and crashing hard. I think every good brain retrining programme should include advice on pacing and body awareness which, as far as I know, not all programmes do.
