I put 20000+ miles on my 02 model and loved it. No problems whatsoever. I agree with you on the vibrations though. It was a bike which was ahead of its time in concept. I wish I still had it.

Is there a way to dampen some of the vibrations at the handlebars by using rubber mounts or anything like that?

the bad thing whit this bike,is the stock carb,it's a big restriction and replacing it whit f.ex. the mikuni tm40 makes a new bike..much more fun and "snappy" to ride, together whit a full aftermarket exhaust, f.ex. acrapovic and the bike really comes alive, also a smaller front and a bigger rear sproket makes it even better offroad, mine is set up to max out at about 145 kph,and for me that means a low more fun and "grunt" offroad

Hey, is tm40 install plug and play? meaning same throttle wire, same intake boot, air box will do with it? thanks

What kickstand did you go with? I just got an 02 640 Adventure and am having issues location a side mounted kick stand.
