No problem with Japanese bikes but they honestly don’t produce a bike that suits my wants, Beta is the only other option that I’m looking at.

When you don't pay your suppliers(creditors),you don't get parts. The newer the model, the less parts there already are. They will also increase parts prices to make up the loss they're experiencing. As if their parts prices aren't ridiculous already. I guess the pain will be the test of brand loyalty.

KTM might survive if they are incredibly lucky. In the UK, they have supplied inferior bikes, shut down trusted local dealers and provide zero back up when bikes go wrong. This has led to many if not most long term KTM owners getting into other brands. People don’t trust KTM anymore. The KTM debt is also colossal. The man at the top has drained the cash from the bank causing even more distrust. Tricky times.

Fantic or Yamaha Europe has a 300 with electric start in production and in dealerships. I was told by a Yamaha rep that they new KTM was going to have problems 2 years ago and have been waiting for this to develop. There will be a YZ300X next year. Also they have a 350 ready to go as well. He said a YZ350F Moto bike and a YZ350FX. Hope he's right. I believe he said the 300 will be oil injected.

With regard to the YZ350F(X), Yamaha did hire Kailub Russell to race GNCC for 2025 & beyond. For 2025, he'll be on a YZ450FX, but I suspect he may very well have been hired to help get out at least a YZ350FX for 2026. I kind of figured that any YZ300X for 2026 will simply be the Fantic XE300 in "Blu-Crew" colors, with the aim of using it for: 1) getting into the (hard) enduro w/the Cody Webb hire. 2) sorting out what they want to possibly do in the future w/the YZ125/250(X) models. I have seen a little on the Fantic XE300 that got "bootlegged" into the US, and guy who did this affirmed that it is fast. I wonder if at some point we'll see a WR350R (dual sport)?

It goes without saying, 3 billion in debt will paint a drastically different picture for KTM. It would not surprise me if KTM's diverse group of creditors collectively formed an equity group and claimed a big chunk of KTM and its future at the negotiating table. I think the brand itself is strong but is obviously in desperate need of drastic rescaling to meet current and future markets. I agree one or more of the brands may be dropped or sold (MV) from production as well as slow selling models. It may take years to recover but maybe if they do it right the consumer may not be worse off from it, maybe better. Better support, competitive pricing and 1st rate quality control would be very well received. They've been down this dark road before, just not this far down or this dark. This time its colossal. In the end I think KTM's deep customer base will still be there because they are producing the most developed off road bikes available today. But that may not last if they don't remap they way the company runs for the long haul and with the consumers satisfaction at the top of the priority list. Just my $0.02, nothing that hasn't already been said 10k times but theres reason for hope and not panic at the moment with some key company elements still intact. Oh.. and it wouldn't surprise me either if the unsold bikes in the warehouses got cheaper still. Cash is king baby!

BK. either Reorg or liquidation. Chap 11 vs 7. Either way, shareholders likely wiped out. Hopefully it's a reorg. The biggest issue is warranty...are previous sold bike warrantied or not. And to be honest, warranty is not a big issue usually because bike warranties are not that long anyway, manufacturers warranty anyway. Class 1-9... that's all that matters and depending on warranty nothing really will likely affect bike owners or KTM being an "on going concern" after reorg. Bonds class 1.... shareholder class 9. So there ya go. And everything in between. Bike owners...don't matter in all reality. If chap 7 that's a diff conversation. BTW that's USA BK I'm citing. If diff Jurisdiction, who knows.

Money talks. Internet hype won't keep someone from walking past a Yamaha, if there is an overstocked KTM for $2k less. Competitors might squeeze a PR moment out of this but they won't be coming out ahead until the 200k heavily discounted KTM bikes leave the inventory. With demand at historic lows, we would be lucky to not see another brand get dragged down by this liquidation.

Love your content, great idea to give palatable surface level commentary on the KTM administration while ripping around on your KTM in the woods. However, it should be noted that KTM and the Pierrer Mobility group have already made various announcements and statements about their approach to a solution. They have already slowed production considerably and unfortunately reduced their workforce significantly as a result. Their recent acquisition of MV Augusta is in question, with them having announced the intention to sell off a majority stake, potentially even to the previous owners. I also don't think that it is necessary for KTM to make any announcement style videos at this stage and in all fairness almost off the hype is negative, so they have every right to use their media company to bring balance to the situation. Ktm overreached and is certainly paying the price. However I am quite optimistic about the outcome.

Any new Yamaha 300 2T bike will need new cases, counterbalancer, 6 speed transmission, fuel injection, stronger charging system, electric start, and probably a headlight and taillight. All this adds weight to the 229 pounds dry that the YZ 250X already is. Two stroke motorcycles are already being legislated out of existence in California. I’m not convinced that Yamaha, a conservative company, will risk a bundle of R and D cash on this.

Estart? Meh - would not buy a Yamaha just for that! they need way more changes to the frame/fork geometry - it's stiff and terrible on single track. Works in flowing terrain, but it ain't agile. Also needs more linear power curve and bottom end for tough trails and terrain. You see I'm describing my TE300 ... already there. They should dump gasgas, poorly performing street bike lineups, get new investors and stop producing four versions of the same model (e.g. xc-w).

@davidgrunklee8407 I would hope Red Bull but is seems more likely a Chinese or Indian investor.

If they move all production to China, then the 60% trump tax will raise the price of a $15K bike to $24K and a $20K bike will cost $32K. How many bikes do you think they'll sell in the U.S. after that trump tariff goes into effect?

@@SketchyXC Tell me dumbass. Do you think that the Co. selling the product eats that extra cost. How dumb are you? The customer pays the tariff, not the seller, dumbass. The seller just adds the cost to the price. You don't know how it works.
