KTM Duke 890R Instrument Gauges Display TFT Overview Super Scalpel Motorcycle

Just a quick overview of the Gauge cluster interface on the Duke 890R from KTM.

Hi . The DRL is NOT the outside light “halo”. I thought that to start with. and it confused the heck out of me . The DRL if selected ON and its daylight ie your tft screen is white ( there is a light sensor above the number 7 or thereabouts on the Rev display , which controls the white/black screen function you can just about make it out its sort of a thin 5mm bar) ) AND the engine is running the DRL light is the bottom light of the 3 main lights . If you put your finger over the light sensor to force the tft screen to go black , still with the engine running , you will see the DRL light flip from the bottom light to the top low beam light !! All very confusing . Basically the high /main beam light uses the middle and bottom light and the DRL uses the bottom light ie 50% power of the high beam to make you more visible in daylight conditions, if you then go into a shaded area/tunnel etc , in order not to blind or dazzle oncoming vehicles the light sensor turns the tft screen black , which then also controls the DRL and changes it onto the low beam (top light)! With the DRL switched off in the settings and the engine running you only get the low beam (top light ). Yes I know I need to get a life and get out more . Lol 😂 Oh and if you switch the DRLS off as you don’t like having this 50% high beam on , then it gets switched back on when you use the key to switch the engine off !!! Ride safe . Just got mine back from its first service , fabulous little bike 👍👍
