Kubota F2400 Repairs

I repair a bad hydraulic hose replace a switch and do a hydraulic oil and filter change.

@JourneymanRandy have you ever changed the geat oil from the lower hex head plugs? Mine don't want to come out and the hex plug is starting to strip. Should I add heat?

I have a video on that. There is three compartments for gear oil and four dain plugs. If you can't get the drain plug for the wheel gear case pull the cover off. Just six bolts. That's what I had to do for one side. It's easy to do. Then use rtv gasket maker to reseal. It was blocked with sluge. If you can get the plug out blow compressed air up in there. The big gear blocks the hole. The fourth drain plug is near the input shaft, a small amount of oil will be in there. The book points at a bolt. The drain plug is similar to the other three.

My f2000 just quit moving. Still pumping, but it acts like it is N whether in low or high. Any ideas? Not much online.

Hi Mark. First check transmission oil. Then does the PTO work. Check clutch, linkage. High low lever. If it isn't in gear it won't move. Make sure the leaver is connected to the piece on the transmission. A roled pin may have broke. Get under with a good flashlight look around. Should be simple. Good luck and thanks for watching.

@Journeyman Randy . Thanks for quick reply. Linkages all look good. Has positive feel into high Low range. PTO works fine. Clutch works fine to engage pto. No leaks. Oil is good. Can hear and feel pump circulating through system when pressing on pedals. Shaft into transmission is turning. Problem lies within. Hunting for a parts machine now.

Looks like it is a broken shift fork in transmission. It's at the Dr's waiting parts.

Uh oh. I had the same problem with my F2400. It was around $50 for the part twenty years ago. Big job. You have to split the tractor. Worth doing. Do you have the shop manual? It woild help but not a lot of detailed instructions. Go for it. Let me know how it goes.
