@@jibrilsarabi2908 not exactly . . . its a crate motor to start with, not a production engine and its not designed for trucks, although it should be fine in one. From Ford: Ford's Coyote crate engine is a modular V8 engine with a 5.0L displacement. Despite its relatively small displacement, it's able to create 412 horsepower by using Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing and Cam torque actuation. So, while it may have more horsepower, it would come down to gearing and when it would reach its power band when racing against a similarly equipped vehicle.

Ram has the same features nothing new here lol.
@Steven-gv1ke
@Steven-gv1ke 3 жыл бұрын
@@dhdh8314 Just because Ram has the same features, doesn't mean the outcome is exactly the same. I was a automotive technician for many years, and each manufacturer has different shift points in the transmission, different numbers of gears, different RPMS where the torque converter locks up, the algorithm of the computer throttle management is different, the ratio of each gear in the transmission is different, the torque curve of the cams are different, and about a dozen other things but you should get the idea... Lastly, I have had a 2014 Tundra 5.7L double cab 4x4, and I have never been beat by a stock Ram in a race when I setup the launch correctly. However, if it is not setup correctly on the Tundra, and the tow haul not engaged, and the engine management not removed, the Tundra will lose by a couple truck lengths. Tundra has one of the most aggressive engine throttle management systems I have ever seen. When removed, it is night and day difference.
@dhdh8314
@dhdh8314 3 жыл бұрын
@@Steven-gv1ke you point out some important differences, but it's silly for some to assume that the Tundra is the only truck equipped with tow/haul and traction options. The ZF8 tow/haul performance mode with the Ram is impressive. My guess is if the buttons were pushed in both trucks this becomes a non-issue. Anyways, a fair race would be a Pentastar V6 Ram vs 5.7 Tundra.
@holdenc3082
@holdenc3082 3 жыл бұрын
You weren’t beaten by a Ram because you never raced one. It isn’t like full sized pickups square off every day at intersections across every city in America looking to race. Your Toyota would get rolled up like a bum in a sleeping bag. Toyota technology is ancient, and only boomers or Gen X geezers cling to the mythical Toyota magic. How are those drum brakes doing in the Tacoma these days? Meanwhile the Toyota tards eat it up like candy and pay for garbage tech.

Tis be true!!! Owned 2 Rams and a Magnum and both had to have transmission rebuilt before 100k miles. The Rams went for 80k before 1st and third went then the Magnum made it to 75k before 1st and 2nd went out. Now my Toyotas are completely different. My 89 "Taco" went 315k before the transmission blew and my 2003 Tacoma was still going strong when I sold it with 220k miles and currently the 4Runner has 150k and the transmission is solid as solid can be and the 2013 Rav4 only has 80k on its transmission. That car is getting sold once we move and I'll be getting a Tundra. My bothers 2012 Tundra has 230k on the stock transmission and it still is going strong. Toyota for the win. But, the Hemi and Cummins are fun to drive :)

@@gtown1742 , I can tell you are probably in your 20's maybe 30's. I have never owned a Toyota, I am an American and WWII is my main reason, that being said I was driving MOPARs since I started driving in 1988. I could care less if kids don't care about the past, I do and I will drive what I see more American than a Japanese company making a truck. I love my 2018 Ram, I also work for FCA, so my view and buying will continue to favor MOPARs over the other 2 Big 3. I have owned over 12 Brand New Chrysler/FCA vehicles and I have liked them and had no issues with them. As far as reliability goes, Ford, GM and Ram have all updated engines, interiors, and sheet metal, while the Tundra has remained almost the same truck since 2007. The JDP reliability rating on my 2018 Ram is a 78/100, The tundra got an 81/100. IMO, the reliability thing is just smoke for toyota people. If you make the same thing year in and year out and only hold a 3 point lead over a vehicle that has been updated several times since 2007, heck the Ram was a total redo in 2009. I will keep my Ram and buy another one. There is a reason more people buy the Ford, GM and Ram trucks, they do the job and get us from point A to B and we have fun doing so.

Truck people are very pig headed when it comes to their truck thats why. Most of them drive what their daddy drove and his daddy and his daddy. They get brainwashed from an early age on what is the best truck. For the longest I was a Chevy man. I drove Chevys from the time I was sixteen until I gave my last rebuild to my brother 7 years ago. Now along the way I did buy other makes as well but I was Chevy all the way. Now I couldnt care less about the big three and I have owned all of them. Most farmers drive 3/4 ton or one ton trucks also and Nissan and Toyota do not produce them.

Dylan Houser yeah, but the main reason for that is the 10.5 inch rear end with its 4.30 gears. Great for towing, not so great for fuel economy. But then again none of these trucks are going to get stellar fuel economy so to me if youre that worried about fuel economy you might want to look at a Colorado diesel, or the upcoming Silverado 6 cylinder duramax. Both will get you 30 mpg or more and lots of torque.
