The fact that both of them looked at the Dragon Scroll and seeing themselves, Po said “It’s Blank” and Tai Lung said “It’s nothing”😬 Thats like somebody asking you “What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror.” Thats some deep symbolism right there.

There are so many great lessons in this film. One I always took home is that a person who wants a position isn't always the best one for that position. The 5 trained their whole lives to one day become the dragon warrior, but Po ended up becoming the dragon warrior. I've always seen this as an allegory to career politicians, who train to become politicians, when the best ones seem to be those who stepped into the role. Just the one the stood out to me the most.

Yes Master Shifu is a red panda! His coloration is very unusual, real red pandas would not be that color but I assume they wanted him to look aged and wise so they lightened his fur up to almost white. He's not albino or anything.

@@OctoKrool Another small but important detail relating to that saying: Everything that was suppose to stop Tai Lung’s escape was ironically used by Tai Lung to escape. The crossbow bolts broke his chains and provided quick elevation. Bringing up the elevator provided Tai Lung Cover from the arrows, the chain got him even more elevation with a swing, and he used the TNT to blow up the last of the army.

funny enough that's what the movie is about . Expectations, and the negatives of its highs and lows . Everyone thought Po wasn't going to meet the standards of dragoon warrior, there fore the unnecessary defeat of the five took place near the end of the film ( as they were to impatient to see if things were true about Po) . While Tai lungs goodness and aspirations on the other hand was mainly determined by the over abundance of un healthy expectations that were set and not meant to be fulfilled by him, as his heart and mental maturity was not about the right things ( despite what Shifu thought to be true ).

So I wanna point out... "Kung fu", doesn't just mean martial arts, translated. It means "mastery of an art". Anything that someone devotes their life to, and devotes themselves to build proficiency in, has a mastery level that can be considered their kung fu. And in this film, we have one non-martial artist person that's a clear master of their kung fu: Mr. Ping, Po's father. He has obsessively and single-mindedly devoted himself to his craft. And he clearly "trained" his son in that art too. If you look at the scene of Po cooking, the boy was perfectly at home in a kitchen. And while he talked up his dad as a superior cook, it's the one point in the film where he never doubted or put himself down.

Tai Lung was so damaged and Shifu blamed himself because he felt he was too hard on him... but he loved him like a son. I felt so bad for BOTH of them. When Shifu apologized at the end during their battle, Tai Lung's face softened. It's like that's all he ever wanted to hear; that he was enough, but it was too late. He was too far gone.

You may recognize the voice of Mr Ping (Poe’s dad, the noodle goose), as James Hong, who played Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China. The voice of Tai Lung is Ian McShane, who you will know as Winston from John Wick, and who gave an all time legendary performance as Al Swearingin on HBO’s western series Deadwood.

Kung Fu Panda is such an amazing trilogy. As well at How to Train Your Dragon (my fav). Dreamworks really knocked it out of the park with these two amazing trilogies. So much heart in these stories, and progressive growth of the protagonist in each movie, not to mention the beautiful animation and attention to detail they put. In my top favorite animated movies. When I think about it, most of my favorite animated movies are mostly non Disney. I got excited when I saw you reacted to Prince of Egypt which holds a special place in my heart, and now Kung Fu Panda, PLEASE keep this Dreamworks train going.

This movie has to be one my favorites and I love that you guys mentioned that Po wasn’t bad at fighting he just had to learn in a different way, that people learn different such as education. Which really spoke to me because as a dyslexic kid growing up people would make fun of me cuz I couldn’t read or write as good, so to them it meant I was stupid. But that all changed when I got a special ed teacher who worked with me and I learn to read based on what I liked instead of school demanded.

I always liked the fact that the ultimate lesson in this movie wasn't taught by Oogway or Shifu. It was Po's father who gave him the last piece to the puzzle. That, and the small mention from Po that he eats when he's stressed... and later, isn't hungry when he's finally succeeded in his training. It's a small thing, but a well-done payoff.

You can see the emotions running through his face, that apology meant something to him, even if he denied it. But the problem is, tai lung spent 20 years,in solitary confinement, in a straightjacket SO restrictive ,he couldn't even take a full breath, that was shown in one of the stages of unlocking. He spent 20 years in his own head with nothing to do but stew in his hatred of those he felt responsible, sifu and oogway.

Thanks so much for reviewing this film! I especially loved how Po persevered, and never gave up. Oh, and I loved the whole thing about there not being any accidents. Anyway, I hope you guys review the second, and third films fairly soon!

Something small I just wanna point out. THANK GOD I came across people that know Zeng (the messenger) is a DUCK, not a goose. Not serious, but more a pet-peeve. LMAO .

Nice! 2 is 1,000 times better than the first. And 3 is infinitely better than the first 2 combined.

When possible father told him that his special ingredient wasn't an ingredient but just believing that there is one ,I felt like he was telling po that he just needed to believe in himself and know that he is special.

The way Tai Lung sais: "Watta you gonna do? Sit on me?" Pretty funny. Fun fact, if you work it out mathematically, it would take Oogway 24 days to blow out those candles...

Tai-Lung's was trained his whole life in some kind of martial arts cult (think of it: kung-fu masters are demigods here and unbreakable authorities, especially Ugwei who is someone like a prophet), Shi-Fu gave him nothing except his fighting skills and determination to be a best for his father (for ego as well, but mostly for Shi-Fu). And what happened after tens of years of bloody trainings with no excuses? Crazy old turtle saw something bad in his heart (actually, what? Rage? Aggression? Pride? Ambition? Never told about it. And I don't believe that Tai-Lung wouldn't try to achieve some sort of inner piece if he was told to reach that goal to eradicate that darkness from his heart and become a true Dragon Warrior) and destroy his whole life like nothing. I believe that Tai-Lung could handle it, but only with support from his father - the only one and the most important person in his whole life. But Shi-Fu betray him as well and the whole world around Tai-Lung was okay with that shit. P.S. The whole fight beetwen Tai-Lung and Po was complietly screwed up. As we see in this movie and in the sequel as well, Po didn't reach his limits and in some cases was weaker then Tigress or Shi-Fu. At the same time, Tai-Lung is an ultimate war-machine, who can be stopped only by Ugwei.

I came here expecting a fun reaction to the first movie in my favourite trilogy. I did not expect such an in-depth descussion afterwards. I absolutely love it. glad to see there are still reaction channels that aren't just "haha funnies. well that was a good movie, see ya next time." Absolutely love you two, definately deserved my subscribtion!
