I want to thank you very much my friend, in this stance I finally was able to stretch some muscles right at the base of my spine, by ensuring my back foot is flat and I'm low in the stance I felt an urge to reach far out in front with both arms, is the most amazing feeling. I have been suffering from tight muscles and nerves so needing to stretch everything but in particular all the deep muscles in my core and around my spine and neck. Thank you for the step by step explanation and demonstration of the Pu Bu.I have been searching youtube for the last I year, and would like to tell you that this is the best I have come across. It gives me more confidence to practice the movement.Suggestions- Please remove the bench in the foreground, as it is blocking the view of your hands and feet. Also, keep your dogs away from you, as they also block the view, and you may hurt them accidently.

Great video! Thanks for the explanation about where to place your center of gravity -- I just recently started training and have been training a lot. For the last few days my knees started to crack more than usually and feel bit inflamed -- is this because I don't have enough muscle in my leg to support the stance? Should I focus my on strengthening the muscle around the knees and my flexibility before I attempt this stance further. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this great explanation! I'm trying to learn this form in Tai Chi. One question: when you crouch down, are you 'sitting' on your calf, or do you still hold yourself up a bit? In other words, is there any space between the back of your thigh and your calf?

you are welcome :) Pu Bu Crouch stance is a quite hard movement to stretch and practice. I cant see your movement so i could not give you exactly suggestion but you may give a try both leg crouch down first and than use something to help your balance the same time let one leg straight to become Pu Bu. god luck :)
