Irish people have constantly harassed me and called me fake Irish because I am Irish American. I have an irish last name, my families are from Ireland, same as Kurt here. But when an grunge rockstar icon has irish ancestry, you guys claim him as irish? bullshit. He's american. You cannot pick and choose just to make the ethnicity look better.

Its so crazy when I was 17 I was in Halifax Nova Scotia and there was a parade for the Naval Day when the bagpipes started playing I got tears in my eyes and I was like what is this I felt such a connection. Years later I went to a neighborhood in Montreal for the first time that was an Irish neighborhood and I was like In love like I belong here ..many years later I found out i was mostly Irish had no clue before this.

Kurt's mum Wendy 'O'Connor' means ancestry also from Ireland, an old irish name - of the royal bloodline - related to the last true King of Ireland, from Connacht. The O'Connor coat of arms has an oak tree on it, which can imply Druid ancestry, even Tuatha De Danann (the supernatural beings). At the end of his life Kurt was talking about divorcing Courtney and moving to Scotland or Ireland. Interesting also there were Frances's in the O'Connor kings history, which he names his daughter this life. I think 'Cobain' ended up being from northern ireland.
