Dovetail burrs of all variety are great for shallow relief, and layered lettering. They are my go to for most of my projects. I don't normally use them for bulk removal, but use course and fine diamond ones 80% of the time. Love your videos, I learn with everyone!

Yeah they are perfect for shallow relief carving. They leave a nice clean line. Cheers for watching Jasoden 👍

Great videos. I'm making the transition from surface engraving glass and metal to power carving wood. Your videos are a load of great info. Keep em coming.

Hey Matt! Thanks for your guides, its very useful for beginners. Can you please tell what RPM do you use for a Kutzall burrs? Because they say “25k RPM MAX” Thanks!

Hi. I have never really worried about that, I am running a Dremel 4000 most of the time I think it sits around 30000rpm. (I will put my disclaimer in here though, that's a personal choice ). I reckon probably the most dangerous and detrimental thing you can do is not having the shaft of the burr in far enough into the chuck and also applying to much pressure. I do have a video on dremel speeds kzbin.info/www/bejne/Znicl5Jjqat7mJY

Can I use a Kutzall burr without a chuck?
@MattCarves
@MattCarves 10 ай бұрын
Yes. You just use the collet system that comes with the dremel. 👍

Nice vid Matt, do you ever use Saburrtooth burrs? I'm still getting a collection of burrs together and have a few of the Kutzall burrs and a shaping disc which I like. I've noticed a lot of people use the Saburrtooth brand and rate them highly.

Yeah I have one sabburtooth burr it's really good. Probably kutzall and saburtooth are about the same. Cheers for watching 👍

What are the different colours for ??? Thank you in advance . J.E.R.
@MattCarves
@MattCarves Жыл бұрын
The different colored burrs in the kutzall range refers to how rough or Smooth they are. Black is extremely rough great for removing lots of wood, silver is medium and gold is fine thus leaves a Smoother finish
