The twitter account FreeKyleUSA is under scrutiny for tweets showing Kyle Rittenhouse playing with a puppy and talking about going to the gym. This, of course, is making people upset as they want Kyle dead or in jail. That's not how the presumption of innocence works, let's talk about it.

Anyone who has ever handled a weapon must admire Kyle’s skill and discipline. The slips that happen in the heat of battle are what will be used to prosecute. I didn’t see any in the videos I watched. The kid had complete control of his weapon at all times. He had trigger discipline, good hold while running, perfect aim when he fired at his attackers. Any professional, say a cop or soldier, would be pleased to have done as well in a riot. I’m not an expert, but I have owned and used guns for decades and have taken courses and practiced to improve my skills. I can appreciate the difficulty of what Kyle did. It’s a miracle nobody else was shot. I can only pray I exhibit the same control, presence of mind, and skill if I’m ever in a comparable situation - God forbid. The moment that seals self defense is when his attacker momentarily lowers his weapon and Kyle immediately lowers his. The attacker tried to fake out an experienced gunman on high alert. It was a cocky, stupid decision and an idiot LARPer got his arm blown off. Anyone mourning the dead or pitying the guy injured are being lied to by media. The world is better off without those assholes. Not sorry.

I had someone ask me the other day, how could I possible think Kyle did self defense. I asked them back, that if they had a gun and were running AWAY from me, and I chased them, struck them with a weapon knocking them to the ground, intent on doing them severe harm, and then tried to get their gun away from them, what would they do. I think the prosecution knows the case is a lost cause, at this point, but I suspect they fear that their "fans" will lynch them if they withdraw the charges. These people are effectively in the position of conscript slave-soldiers: terrified of being slaughtered by "the enemy" if they are too far forward in the suicide charge, but also terrified of being "shot for desertion" if they lag back or try to retreat.
