I will agree with post-credits Kyle on the strangeness of the Nintendo sizzle reel. What caught my notice is that all the games were specifically organized chronologically instead of in a way to have a ramp up in excitement. To me, it reads as “We’re keeping support up with Switch until the very end, but also you may notice the heavy-hitters taper off at a certain point. It will be okay.” Having Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD dated so far into the future seems like they might have pushed the date back just so the theoretical end of the Switch is a bit bigger than something like a Mario vs Donkey Kong remake, you know?

It's also weird as in previous directs, they usually had normal montages of games launching in a couple weeks/ out after the presentation. Like why highlight what we should mostly know from the direct when they could highlight an assortment of games including Fate/Samurai, Rune Factory 3, Silent Hope, Batman, Sonic, Nicktoons Brawl 2 and Fashion Dreamer.

That's hilariously unintentionally funny. They want to show off one of the skills and let the player ask if someone has a skill to solve this problem, so they can show off this cool laser. But instead all the viewer understands is "should we actually put effort in and strategize to beat this huge monster? - Nah, let's just use this big laser I have and finally end it."

Nintendo doesnt need flashy trailers i just care about the gameplay. And yes most of these were remakes and releases. If the next console comes out next year then this is to be expected. And yes the cookie cutter voiceover doesnt do it anymore. They also have the same announcer for more mature stuff and then it sounds even weirder because he tries to sound serious but still isnt at all.

Honest to god, when i watched the SOP live and it start with baby steps, i was thinking about you Kyle. Now, i want to make it clear that i don't usually think about you, like at all, with no disrespect, right? But to start the show with this, without any word, it just was to me the most Delayed Input with Kyle Bosman that something can be... And that's most definitely a compliment!

When I think of FF7, I think of variety rather than epic moments. I think of party members that all could have their own game about them having dialogue and experiences that vary in tone from goofy to dramatic. (spoiler for those who somehow haven't played FF7....please play it before playing the remakes). . . . Cloud is perfect for this because he's (spoiler) not who he says he is, and has no memory. He's literally a self insert for the player pretending to be someone important. He essentially took up someone else's story just like we did. In consequence, Cloud can be a goofball or the SOLDIER hero in my mind. There's a part for many sides of Cloud in it. FF7 also came at the perfect time where you could set the tone for a whole new look and feel for 3D video games, and they really explored a lot of stuff you could do with it. That's why I'm still getting Rebirth, because it will still have what I really liked about FF7. I can swallow that bitter Nomura meta plot time janitor thing as long as I can have fun playing as the characters I like in a variety of situations.

I will push back a little on the harder bosses for Super Mario RPG. My only complaint of FFXVI is the lack of super bosses. They could have no rewards, I just wanted to be tested, the hunts were far too easy. I'm stoked to fight the hard bosses just for the sake of it.

Sony State of Play: Spider-Man saves a marching drum Nintendo Direct: Trombone quartet party Tomb Raider Trilogy is a real remaster of the original three games in the series. Not remakes like Tomb Raider Anniversary. I think the devs are using the original source codes, and just applying a new layer of 'paint' over top of the original map data, with enhanced models, textures and lighting. Just like many of the Doom source code port HD packs available. Plus the game seems to be adding other QOL updates like an updated control scheme.
