You are absolutely right about nose jobs Our daughter asked for a nose job for her 16th birthday. We told her no. We also told her that if she still wanted one when she turned 21 we would then help her get it. When she turned 21 she asked us if we remembered the nose job promise and we said yes. She then told us “thank you, but I won’t be needing that. I think my nose makes me “ME” and I don’t want to change “ME” This is exactly why children can’t be allowed to make life altering decisions because they can’t possibly know how they will feel about it 5 years later much less when they are 40.

This is an interesting topic for me. My mother had chosen to get plastic surgery in her 40s. She had 3 kids and my brother was the last one and happened to be an emergency c section. My mother stopped wearing two piece bathing suits after that and was always really self conscious about her stomach. We finally were at a point where it was financially possible for her to get work done so she decided to get a tummy tuck and a boob job (the boob job was honestly very mild. Looked more like a lift to me than a size difference). And after that I saw my mom gain the confidence back she had lost for years and then she decided to change her lifestyle and get better habits. She never once put me and my siblings down when we were younger. I distinctly remember her always trying to instill us loving ourselves as we are.

I’m a 46 year old male . We all have preferences, like ideal preferences and then there is what you get . Men will be comfortable dating or hitting on 50% of women the cross paths with . It happens in dating apps and in real life . We are just really not very picky , as a group . There are of course exceptions . I am completely turned off by surgery , eye lashes , extreme make up , and cosmetic procedures . However, as most of my males out there , we just ignore that and still hit . Whatever competition of beauty standards is going on is not being fueled by what men desire or find attractive. We just put up with anything and still go for it . Always as a group , there are very picky men . But the majority just see past all that insanity. I’m from the 70s and in the 90s every girl just wore a pair of jeans , no make up at all, and the simplest dull shirt you can imagine and their hair was just brushed for like 30 seconds before exiting the house . Sometimes just brushed with their fingers . They were gorgeous . The main focus was personality. I’m now attracted to gray hair and wrinkles . Some women even 10 years older than me ere just gorgeous to me . Meanwhile I see 20-25 year olds with lip fillers and Botox. I just don’t get it . I seriously don’t get it . Please don’t blame these delusional beauty standards on men . Most of us hate it.

@@Suri-ph5jf Society will never change. There is always something trendy going on and if you dont have it, you are out. Everybody gets tattoos now, before you were the outcast when you had one. Now, you can tattoo your face and be an influencer, then you have people who dont have any followers that tattoo their faces and wonder why they cant get a job. In the 90s huge fake boobs were what every woman wanted, not really men, but women. Now small boobs are the trend and brazilians butts. For men is the same, now all the guys are takings steroids to have a body that cannot even be achieved working out 4 days a week. You will NEVER be able to please everybody and if you do, then the fad will change and you will have huge boobs when everyone else is getting a reduction. We are entering the age in which personality makes all the difference, surgery will make sure there is plenty of brainless, annoying, self-centered barbie dolls. Personality will be scarce and the true winner. Dont stay home, embrace yourself and be bold, be positive, outgoing, outspoken. If you are average, like the majority of Earth you will not attract people by your looks or at a distance, you will instead attract the world when you open you mouth, the way you walk, the way you dress also talk for you. you dont want to walk like you have been defeated or dress with wrinkled clothes. I would not get any surgery that does not correct a medical problem. There is always going to be someone that thinks you are ugly or even call you ugly, and there is always somone that will find you beautiful, your job is to weed them out.

When the surgery is done, you’ll find a new body part to fixate on. It seems never ending with those women But I’m sure there are some people can enhance things without it meaning anything about their self esteem I also don’t think you owe anyone details of your personal life if you don’t want to admit it. I am 31 and never watched the Kardashians. Never have, never will. Having said that, I didn't understand where all the trends where coming from- you know, the ones where we all women end up looking exactly alike with our make up- and now I know. Over the past 2 years I have been so intentional on toning it down with my make up, especially with those make up tricks that change me so freaking much. Ie contouring, for example, makes me look completely different. I started applying only a little concelear, mascara and at times a little blush. At first I felt ''weird'' because I didn't look a certain way (contoured probably?) and then I started wondering why was it weird to look like me? I consider myself a beautiful woman, so why was I not enjoying myself? The more I have taken a step back from trends, the more I enjoy my own beauty and take good care of it. I have been able to take care of myself mentally, too, and live FREE. I guess the message I want to send to anybody reading this is that any trend that keeps you from enjoying yourseld and taking care of yourself is actually attempting against your freedom of choice. That is how deep trends can go for women, young and old. So watch out, you are not just following a trend, but choosing to give up your freedom of choosing what you truly enjoy and what you do not!

I always have believed that plastic surgery is actually a mistake, but I cannot judge nor force someone to do something or not to do something just because of my beliefs. I hate plastic surgery and it is always a horrible idea because of the problems that occur, from addiction to looking "perfect" to even the failed surgeries that could occur from one mistake from the surgeon. But again, I cannot tell people what not to do, it would be wrong and it does take away their freedom of doing whatever they want to themselves. Also reconstruction surgery is a small part of plastic surgery, which is why it isn't all bad. But I still believe that plastic surgery is a bad thing to condone and to even endorse. Though it can help some people, like those who lost their skin and muscle tissue to injuries that have left them scarred for life. -Jack

This is my opinion, to an extent. I've said that I wouldn't lose sleep if we decided to ban it; actually I think society would be better off if we banned it. It's more just on principle that I don't think it's worth going after. We definitely need to shun it.

What upsets me is that we never hear about the expiration dates. You WILL have to eventually remove/replace the implants and repair the pocket it sits in. Nevermind accidents that pop them. It's not a one and done for life. You better have 15 grand sitting around for when the time comes. Cosmetic dentistry also has a shelf life that never gets discussed. Those crowns don't come with a lifetime guarantee. They're made so cheaply now you're lucky to get 5 years.

@@owlblocksdavid4955Plastic surgery is important for people who got very bad burns, who got messed up very badly at work or during incident etc. It gives people second chance in life. We should not ban them, but maybe restrict them for very young people. Or at least don't promote them.

I just got surgery on my nose 2 weeks ago and it was a reconstructive surgery to improve breathing after multiple injuries. I had turbinate reduction, nasal valve reconstruction and septoplasty. I hated the way my nose looked in my teens and I'm glad I waited until I turned 25 and accepted it for for the way it looks. I didnt know my structural issues were that bad when I was younger but something always seemed off about my nose. So much could have gone wrong and there are so many complications with any surgery. I'm especially prone to infections so I had to follow the post op instructions very carefully. Even if I'm careful theres still possibility of infection or other complications. No one ever considers these things before going under the knife. Just getting my wisdom teeth removed at age 20 I got two dry sockets and 2 infections. After that I never wanted surgery again unless I have to do it for health reasons.

@zg404 Жыл бұрын
I do not like when people say "just remove your implants then", "just dissolve", etc. You cant just remove implants and dissolve filler and go back to your original form. If you remove implants youll probably need a breast lift and be left with huge scars and stretch marks due to skin elasticity. Moreover, after a long time of us - filler can leave scar tissue. So, even if dissolved, the lips or cheeks wont go back to its original form. Potentially going to be bumpy or uneven. Its not that easy. And these are things that you dont think when you're 19.

Thing with Kylie is that she was born into a family where she was constantly under extreme pressure to do as they said or as they had planned. Dissolving and removing all of her work will likely leave her looking disfigured. She can accept that she has them and still regret it. It's more than black and white, especially given what her work is. At least she's opening up about it now. I was always torn on the whole plastic surgery aspect because a part of me believes in the true natural beauty that makes us, but I also completely understand why people go through it. I believe if you need it then, do it. But if you don’t need it, then why do it? Do what you can to make yourself feel the best, in the most natural ways possible. Gym, cleanliness, and self control, good eating habits. A lot of these things will put you in a mindset that can help you achieve much more if you are in that mindset. I completely blame Kris. Yes, she got this stuff done at 19, but I really believe that Kris pressured and bullied her into it, possibly even blackmailing her in some way. The whole family is full of narcissists and for a while it really seemed like she would be the normal voice of reason, but you can only stand strong for so long against people who are pressuring you to do X, Y, or Z to maintain the family brand because OMG they want all the money. I could totally see her consistent lying being her way of coping because she never wanted the surgery to begin with and lying about it was the only way to prevent herself from breaking down for allowing herself to be strong armed by a greedy mother who should've been loving her children instead of exploiting them. Now, I will admit, that opinion is formed by the 20 mins worth of clips I've watched in commentary videos like this one and the random scuttlebutt that floats around on my facebook feed. I have never watched their shows, never wanted to, I even used to use a Firefox extension before it broke that would block out anything with the Kardashian or Jenner names. The only benefit I've ever seen from them, was that they got jeans made for curvy hourglass bodies in the stores far faster than J Lo was trying to do. When I was able to go down and buy a pair of jeans at Target or Gap that fit without me needing to buy a size up and come home and tailor them to make them fit over my booty, that was such an amazing day for me. But that's the only benefit I've seen from them. And I totally blame Kris. The daughters aren't innocent for sure, but Kris is the catalyst for sure.
