One of my best Venice childhood memories is when, while wandering around in Venice with my family, we accidentally opened a monastery door and we found ourselves in a big hall with many monks perfectly sorted all around its walls intoning amazing Gregorian chants.

Dear Kylie, as a Venetian I am: thank you very much for having brought my beautiful city on video with the honor and respect it deserves. Unfortunately, there are now many, too many, tourists who scan this city of over 1600 years as an amusement park. Of course, living here has its problems - like when you have to renovate your home😅-, and I know it well, but I consider them the price to pay to live in the most beautiful city in the world, which has never lost its being. Queen of the Adriatic! 😉 As for the problem of tourism and residential accommodation, I fear that unfortunately it is due to the almost total closure of the Porto Marghera industrial center, which employed tens of thousands of people who lived here in the historic center and who therefore always consumed and bought here, fueling the local economy. Let's be clear, something had to be done to make that plant "greener", but we had to try to do it without closing it almost completely, making sure that all the workers were forced to leave their homes in Venice (which became too expensive to maintain ) to move to the mainland! But of course, this is just my opinion! I also thank you for remembering the battles that unfortunately Venice suffered, of the First Italian War of Independence, where Venice was one of the first to rise up and one of the last to fall, in 1849, after more than a year of siege, not for military defeat, but due to a severe cholera epidemic. The effects of that war are still visible here in Venice, as for example in the church of San Salvador where an Austrian cannonball is still set on the front. I hope you had a great time here and I very much hope that your dad can get back into shape soon!🇮🇹💪🏻

For every way to answer your question well ... the only thing that comes to mind is that you could request the documentation of your grandfather, at the "registry" section of his town of Italian birth or in the local section of the Archive of State if he was a member of a noble family. However, if he only had one house here in Venice, then one must resort to the cadastral archive of the municipality of Venice (which, however, is not easy to consult as there have been three different archive organization methods throughout history: one made by Napoleon , one made by the asutriaci and the last made by the kingdom of Italy so first of all it would be to understand when your grandfather bought the house here in Venice). Another system is to check the name of your family in the register of Italian noble associations that still exist today. For now these are the tips that I can give you in a safe way! 😅 Please note that, having an Italian relative in direct line, male, you can apply for Italian citizenship "De jure sanguinis" (this obviously would greatly facilitate the search operations). Hope I was helpful! 😁

@@leonardosunseri6065 My DNA I'm a decendent of Napoleon Bonaparte Empress Maria Treasa and Marie Antoinette on her sister's is Queen of the 2 Sicilies and a great grandmother of the current King Victor Emmanuel of Italy his son the Prince of Venice lives in my Area Im planning on going to visit with him at his business I have to gather the information and the DNA test results unfortunately my father was born in a area where birth certificate don't exist until after 1915 the following year I do have a family tree from before year 800 and before into the Roman Senate paperwork cannot be found but Nonno in his writing Italian citizen my Father was born before he was naturalized if he ever was no record found of naturalization and wasn't at time of his birth aka Nonnos statement family in the village said members of very old family and every area my father said that family is from show in the DNA testing There's more historical people in the DNA all female DNA So Napoleon Bonaparte will be a easy one one of his family members is same name as my great Nonno and Hugobert count of Milan known as the Viper of Milan article in paper microfish rulers of Bergamo high middle ages So yes I have found hearings in old court records in Milan Still immediate family there The home in Venizia is one of 3 last things I was told everything else was proven in the DNA testing There's a document of a bishop same name that was in control of Milan Florence and Venizia during Medici family time just found that one and Matilda di Cannosa and Beatrice are in the tree and in the book history of the Pope's Matilda is only one of 4 female in the Vatican in a crypt Yes I have been studying ! Some crazy history ! Just looking for that last information and nobody is available here in the states lots of government agencies like Archives are closed technically I am already a dual citizen by birth but andy Father told me about it he didn't renounce now lots of paperwork closed offices I just want to find my family home 🌹

My first visit to Venice was in mid-December. It was raining. The alleyways puddled and from our hotel room window, the caterpillar of Asian tourists walking single file under their umbrellas inched their way along the narrow route. The tables were placed in Piazza San Marco for pedestrians to walk on the risen water. Two days time is not enough to see all the splendor of Venezia but it was the start of a number of two-day visits over the last twenty-five years. That first visit was the most impressive. Your film captured the light and sparked my own memories. Lovely film.

My one and only trip to Venice 4-1/2 years ago was consumed almost in its entirety by gasps of wonder and awe, beginning with our exit from the train station where we were struck by that stunning sight. I have always been fascinated by Venice, in fact when I was 12 or 13 I quite seriously wanted to become a female gondoliere! I still love watching how effortlessly and silently they pass by even when it seems like they are going to crash into another gondola. We stayed in a similar place on the canal in Murano (not as nice as your palace) but I also sat on our little balcony reading and watching the sights and the people going by. I had my husband sit down and watch this with me as I put this on our big screen t.v. We honeymooned there.Oh we were there in many of your shots. Brought back good memories even as 6 years have passed. At the end when You gave him your room key, I look over at the 8x10 of our red and gold room key on the wall. Brilliant master piece Kylie! Love Venice, we find it so romantic at night when all the tourist are gone. When in Las Vegas a few weeks ago we made a stop at Venetian Hotel just to feel like we were back in Italy. It's been 2 yrs since traveling to Italy and miss it so much.

Thank you for this beautiful episode. I've been watching your cinematic and gorgeous content for some time and truly appreciate your content. My husband and I have been to Italy a couple of times, and on the second trip spent a full week in Venice. It was a treat. Thanks for your food episodes creating delicious dishes as well. I can finally cook chicken breast with flavor because of your tips in one episode. We are planning a bucket list trip to Italy in the summer of 2023, and saving our pennies for it now. We plan to purchase the tickets for our immediate family, and then rent a home in the Tuscany area with the idea of inviting friends and family to stay with us on our dime at this home. Wish us luck! In the meantime, thanks for your spectacular storytelling and sumptuous filming. P.S. I find it funny/and sad/ and hopeful that you were shut out of FB due to fraud. I've had a similar issue for my account thus impacting my business account with not nearly the following or work you produce! It's an infuriating ordeal to be the victim of fraud with no recourse. You are proof that good work and perseverance can overcome that obstacle!
