When compared the apartments in London, most of the toilet are NOT in "half brisk" but integrate with a mirror Cabinet and a shelf, the design is more like in HK instead. So, I think the Builders especially the rural ones, should follow the design in London.
The rooms in new built are very small and almost all the new built is open kitchen. New UK immigrants from HK are looking for a retirement house/the only house they will buy in UK, that's not reasonable to buy new built. The space is so small, just look like a Hong Kong-style building/apartment.

Not all new builds have small rooms. Open kitchen living is very popular in the UK. People like the idea of the family all being together around the kitchen area. New build size will often depend on the budget of someone. I do not believe that the top bedroom was a small room. I think for the budget, and HS2 due to be built in the future. Crewe is a good priced location.
