stream Feel good Same here! And even worse, I’m from Finland. We don’t do that touching strangers thing here. Or talking to them, unless it’s totally unavoidable. Handshakes are optional as well, especially during flu season. My family and I visited my mom’s friends in France once when I was an awkward teen. I was bloody traumatized! So much touching strangers going on and I _didn’t want to_. But I had to, JFC it was terrible. I swore to myself then and there that I’d never get any French friends myself, because I don’t want to have to do la bise with their creepy 70-year-old uncles and whoever else happens to be in the house. Southern Europe is way too social and fake-friendly-but-judgemental anyway. I talk to my parents on the phone about once a month and visit once a year, and that’s just perfect. I already live with my husband so he fills up my whole quota of social interaction by himself. And no one complains or judges us for it.

At least it's much easier than in France: here it's just like left cheek, right cheek or vice versa and that's it, it's not like an indefinite amount of kisses like he said in his previous video on la bise
@agustinl23024 жыл бұрын
@@marianolaguzzi Yeah, same for Spain, right cheek first, then left cheek. Just two kisses, and it's pretty standard everywhere in the country I believe. Most of Latin America seems to have dropped the second kiss and just goes for a single one, usually on the right cheek.

So true! It is annoying as hell. Having raz le bol of this charade, I found a perfectly effective technique : avoid eye contact and move like you didn't see anyone. When invited and it is time to go, I just go straight to the host, eyes on them, to say goodbye and give my thanks. And hop, I'm gone. When I arrive, I make a very discreet entrance, and same, no eye contact around the room for the first half hour or until the next person arrives because then I am old news. 😄
